So, what a crazy place could really be something special, just a little tweeted. a really old, neat vintage theatre. with the seating in restaurant chairs. and two beer stations. a huge screen, but nothing played, should have played old blockbuster. bier was good, but limited list. After dining at a nearby restaurant, we decided to give this place a try. We were impressed by the cool atmosphere and the unique theater seats. The night we visited, there was live music and plenty of seating options on both the main floor and upstairs. Despite not being a big fan of beer, I tried a delicious cranberry and herb brew. Overall, it's a fantastic spot to visit if you're in Mars Hill.
This restaurant is a reminder of my college days at Mars Hill College. It has been transformed into a brewery that still shows movies. The beer is excellent, with my favorites being the Kilt Warmer and Stout. They are working on enhancing their food menu and expanding it to make the most of their small kitchen space. I have tried and enjoyed their Cuban sandwich and shredded pork nachos. I encourage people to visit this place not only for what they currently offer, but also to support their future growth. The staff are friendly and deserving of our patronage.
The menu was pared down; no fish and chips, no fries available disappointing. I ended up with a pulled pork sandwich and a pack of chips. Beer was good. I had the ESB and my wife had a coconut porter. Coconut flavoring isn't pleasing to me, but my wife enjoyed it.
This is my favorite place in Mars Hill. The building is a funky, fun conversion of an old 1930s movie theater. You can still watch movies on the big screen while you eat and drink with your friends, whether sitting in the balcony (now more like a living room or on the main floor where some of the original theater seats still stand beside the new brew tanks. There are a few dog-friendly outdoor tables as well. The beers are mostly English style, with occasional variations like West Coast IPA on the rotating taps. The food is basic pub fare (fish and chips, nachos, etc. so don't count on a gourmet meal, but at least you can eat something. It's not the food that brings you here, but the good beers and the funky and charming environment.
A really unique spot in Mars Hill that shows movies in a vintage theatre. They have a great drink selection, which includes a lot of local ciders. I'm really hoping this place will be in full swing now that summer is around the corner. Their trivia night was fun.
