The Lightning Bug was AWESOME! Drove past many times, I finally had to go in... I am so glad I did. Way cooler than I had pictured. Staff were helpful and really nice. Arcade was fun. Seems like it would be a nice place to do birthdays. Large dining area and a few private rooms as well. They have an outdoor mini-gulf with a waterfall that was pretty impressive. Laser-tag, rock climbing wall, bumper cars... We will be... View all feedback.
What User dislikes about The Lightning Bug:
Avoid this restaurant at all costs! The employees are dirty, rude, and unprofessional. My children had a terrible experience and we will never be returning. It's surprising that this place is still in business. View all feedback.

Church Brew Works offers a uniquely captivating experience thanks to its distinctive location and atmosphere.
The lively atmosphere and attentive staff made for a great lunch experience. The beers were tasty and innovative.
When you grow up Catholic, you either stay true to your faith or do everything you can to break away from it. I fall into the latter category.
Not impressed. The place is a lot smaller than the pictures make you believe. There is not a lot of seating. We were back to back with other people fighting for space. Also, the girl behind the prize counter was rude. I watched her yell at a couple of younger kids because she was by herself and overwhelmed. That is not an excuse to yell at children. Later I saw four people behind the busy counter. One was already sitting on a stool texting on his phone, another was standing but grabbed a stool so he could sit and text. The aforementioned girl constantly turning to talk to the two guys on the stools. And a fourth guy who talked to all three but then disappeared. I don't think we will be back.
A year ago, we hosted a birthday party at this restaurant and it was not a great experience. I didn't leave a detailed review at the time, but I brushed it off as our kids enjoy this place. However, after our recent visit where my daughter accidentally broke something in the jungle fitness area, I feel it's time to speak up. Although I appreciate the prompt assistance we received, I can't ignore the fact that many machines were not working and the place looked dirty and neglected. Even during our birthday party, the room was not properly cleaned beforehand, with cake crumbs on the floor and dirty utensils scattered around. For us, it's clear that our money is better spent elsewhere.

I'm revising my review from about a year ago. The Lightning Bug is a convenient dining option near Mars. However, the prices are a bit higher than those at the nearby Fun Fore All, and kids can easily rack up a bill of $20 to $30 in just 30 minutes, which makes me question the overall value. Additionally, more and more of the arcade machines are malfunctioning while still accepting money. While the staff is friendly, the lack of maintenance is making the place less appealing. The food is also overpriced and of poor quality. It might still be worth a short visit, but it's becoming increasingly less attractive over time.
We really enjoy the Lightning Bug for our little ones. As others have noted, it's a great alternative to Fun Fore All (which we also love). The Lightning Bug has a larger indoor space, is quieter, and offers a different variety of activities and games. While the games can be a bit pricey, we usually take advantage of coupons and discounts. They have an impressive selection of fun prizes for ticket redemption, and the staff is very patient as we decide what we want. On rainy days, the Lightning Bug is an excellent spot for kids to expend some energy, with plenty of open space and a climbing gym. They are currently constructing a mini-golf course outside, and although I'm unsure of the opening date, it promises some beautiful views of the western Pennsylvania countryside.
We arrived at 5:45 PM on a Friday, and since it wasn't too crowded, we decided to place our order right away. We went for cheeseburgers, a bacon cheese hotdog, and a large order of fries. The food was surprisingly good for a kids' restaurant. The burgers were made with Angus beef and had a decent flavor. The buns were a step up from the usual ones—soft and plain without any seeds. The fries were similar to shoestring fries but slightly larger. However, the service left something to be desired. My son's burger and mine arrived first, but my husband's hotdog and our fries didn't come out until we finished eating our burgers. The restaurant also had a selection of salad, pizza, ice cream, and coffee. Unfortunately, my husband had to inquire about the rest of our order before they began preparing it. After our meal, we went to buy an arcade card. The cashier informed my husband about a family package deal for $50 that included pizza and a game card, which the food counter staff had failed to mention. As a result, we ended up spending more than we needed to, even though no one wanted the pizza. My son spent about ten minutes playing in the jungle gym, where shoes are not allowed. The place mainly catered to younger kids, around ages 2 to 8, although there were a few older children as well. The arcade featured a variety of games specially designed for younger players. We scored a lot of tickets and had a blast. We also tried the black light mini-golf, which was only $5 per game or 50 points from the arcade card. The glowing paintings and statues under the black light were really impressive. Afterward, we redeemed some of our earned points. There were plenty of prize options, and they seemed reasonably priced. We didn't use all of our points because we plan to come back another time. I also checked out the bathroom, which was clean, although there were some paper towels on the floor. My 3-year-old had a fantastic time and declared that he loved it there. That's exactly why we chose this place! Overall, it was a great experience for everyone, and I think it would be an excellent venue for a birthday party.
We had a birthday party here a year ago and it was not a good experience. I forgot to write a detailed review at the time, but decided to overlook it because our kids enjoy this place. However, after visiting today, I feel it's time to leave a negative review. Unfortunately, my daughter broke her arm while playing on the jungle gym slide, which may not be the restaurant's fault, but it's a sign for us to avoid returning. On top of that, many of the machines are not working properly and the place appears to be poorly maintained with a dirty floor. During our previous visit for the party, the room was not cleaned before our arrival, with cake crumbs and dirty utensils left behind. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.
Spent Way too much money here for what we got. A chicken Sandwich, hot dog, fries, and drinks cost $30 which is absolutely ridiculous in our opinion. The games lasted a whole 20 minutes. Only a couple of arcade games there, most were games of chance where you pull a lever to see how many tickets you won for example. We were pretty disappointed. Went during a rainy day for something fun to do but that only lasted less than an hour and we were bored and broke. Don't know that we will go back again except maybe for a birthday party. PROs Free climbing gym (small though Spacious Decent prizes for tickets won Looks like birthday parties would be fairly reasonable Staff was friendly CONs Very expensive food (at least give fries with the hot dog/hamburger/sandwiches that you are charging so much for! Games are expensive to play and most were pretty disappointing Games are very limited especially with place as spacious as it is Very few good arcade type games

Lightning Bug is a really fun place. They have about everything, from an arcade and jungle gym (which is free) to bumper cars to mini golf (both indoor with black lights and outdoor). They also have a good selection of fast food. Prices are very close totheir more well known competitors, and probably a little better. Overall, it's a really nice family fun center.
The food is really good. Fresh, specially the pizzas. The jungle gym is free while you eat. They have a black light mini golf. And lastly, the arcade games are pretty cool.
This place is a lot of fun for kids! They have an incredible selection for a children's venue. We visit often and even held our son's birthday party here. The owners and staff are always attentive and handle any issues we've encountered!
This is a lovely restaurant with friendly staff. The place is clean and the food is good, with reasonable prices. It’s a fantastic alternative to Fun Fore All. The owner personally introduced himself and expressed his gratitude for our visit, which is rare these days. We will definitely be returning!
This place is truly disappointing. Out of the 12 games, 7 are not functioning properly, and several of them took our money without working. The mini golf course appears to be designed by a child; we finished 9 holes in just 37 seconds. It's such a missed opportunity in a location that could really benefit from some quality attractions. If I could give it zero stars, I would. It's just terrible.
