I was pleasantly surprised to find excellent coffee in Marree, a charming little town on the way to the Birdsville or Oodnadatta tracks. The general store not only offers a variety of items to stock up on, like beer, but also freshly baked goods that are sure to delight you, not to mention the great coffee. I was truly impressed.

This restaurant offers delicious freshly cooked food at reasonable prices, especially considering there aren't many other dining options in the area. While it could potentially be pricey, it is surprisingly affordable. I highly recommend trying their fresh bread and pastries - they were fantastic.

If you're in Marree, go to roast night!! Friday night at 1830 is when the locals converge and the proprietor cooks roast everything, beef, lamb and pork.. yum! Good price too. Under $20 for the experience.

A La Belle Province on Rue Johnson Quest may not be fancy, but that's okay. We dined there on June 28th, 2017.

We stopped here after completing the Birdsville Track for some coffee and morning tea. The coffee was fabulous (and I say that coming from Melbourne). Donuts just cooked were the best I've ever eaten - couldn't get much fresher. Wonderful fresh scrolls etc. Highly recommended.
