the farm has very picturesque and stunning views. great for apple and pumpkin picking. for the picking gap is end october not the best time, since more than half of the top garden is empty. we could get a decent pumpkin, although and great instagram worthy photos. that was nice, we offered a set for a decent price. also her pizza in cafe was fresh and to order. beautiful View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Weed Orchards Winery:
we were on halloween. we were instructed to enter the obstgarten, but I did not feel that the experience was worth it. the drinks were decent, but the service was rude and dissatisfied. the playground was sweet for the children to play, and they offered free hayrides and had a kerl playing music that was beautiful. overall was only an ok obstgarten in comparison to others. This is our second year visiting this place with our children. It's a wonderful experience just 90 minutes away from NYC. There are vast acres of different types of apples to pick from. The entry fee is a great deal at $6 per person. There are bars, outdoor restaurants, delicious pizza, apple cider donuts, as well as cider and wines available for purchase. Apple picking is priced per pound or you can fill a bag for around $45. In addition to apple picking, there are pumpkins, hayrides, a corn maze, and other activities available. Please be aware that there are some hills and dirt paths, so if you have limited mobility or use a wheelchair, you may need assistance in certain areas. However, overall it is a fantastic experience. Weekends can be quite busy, but there is still plenty of picking opportunities for everyone.
The atmosphere at Weed Orchards is perfect, with friendly staff, beautiful views of the mountains, and music to enjoy while you pick your own fruit such as apples, peaches, or grapes. After sampling some wine and enjoying donuts, make sure to take a hayride before heading home. It was a wonderful experience for my first visit, and I had a blast. Thank you, Weed Orchards, for a perfect day.
Very impressive farm and orchard to pick your own apples, peaches, eggplants and more in a beautiful setting in Ulster County. Went on the hayride and listened to some music. Very good cider donuts and other baked goods and hard cider and wine to purchaseand Jane?s ice cream. Loved the outdoor fire pit with the Adirondack style chairs
The restaurant had a large and spacious vineyard with a variety of food options and delicious drinks. Be sure to try the peach slushy - it's quite addictive. The pizza was okay, with a crispy crust. They also offered homemade sangrias and cider choices. The farm for picking was expansive with many options available.
We recently went to Weed Orchards Winery for their Peach Wine Festival. I give them credit for their creativity in calling it a festival and charging a cover, but there?s no festival. It is just a bunch of different stands/places to buy differentthings: $5 to rent a cart (you get $2 back when you return) $2.99/lb or $3.99/lb to pick peaches bakery/market where youcan buy sauces and pies pizza station apple cider donut $1.75 each face painting (for a fee) wine/drinks building outdoor sitting area We bought the peach sangrias which were delicious. We sat outside enjoyed the scenic view. I would givethem high marks for that. There was some music playing in the background, which was nice. As we were leaving we noticed a bandwas setting up, but didn?t get to hear them play. The set up inside the wine room is really nice and air conditioned, which wasgreat during the heat wave. We tasted 4 different wines. NONE of them tasted good. Unfortunately, they decided to eliminate thetasting option during the festival so we had to pay full price for each glass or buy a full bottle, which is not cool. We?vebeen to festivals at other wineries cideries upstate. Usually there?s a lot more going on and in a more coordinated fashion. They usually have deals and tasting options. This was not it. After realizing this we left and went to another winery nearby, and enjoyed the rest of the day.
