What User doesn't like about Smokin' J's Marlboro Vt:
First I want to say it?s nice to have food back in Marlboro. The coleslaw was good. The side salad was fresh and had real bacon bits, which for me was a nice surprise. The baked beans were delicious and full of shredded pork. The right amount of sweet andtangy. The rib meat fell off the bone when I picked them up and were very good although maybe a touch dry, but nothing the bbqsauce didn?t fix. The only disappointme... View all feedback.
Everything was excellent. Chicken, ribs, rice, baked beans all fantastic. And the mashed potatoes, to die for. These weekend get aways with our dog, it's hard to find good quick take out food. This place so far #1. Highly recommend !
I moved here from the south and by far this establishment has the absolute best ribs I e had since being in southern Vermont for 10 years. Ribs fall off the bone and are seasoned perfectly. I add a little spice because I like spicy but they are absolutelywonderful. I want to try the pulled pork but I just can't get enough of these ribs. I'm sure the pulled pork is amazing as well. Thanks smokin' J's for wonderful southern cooked BBQ.
First, I want to say it's great to have food back in Marlboro. The coleslaw was tasty, and the side salad was fresh, complete with real bacon bits, which was a pleasant surprise. The baked beans were delicious, packed with shredded pork, and had just the right balance of sweet and tangy flavors. The rib meat fell off the bone when I picked it up and was quite good, although it might have been a tad dry; however, the barbecue sauce definitely helped with that. The only downside was the cornbread, which was quite dry. Still, it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. I will definitely be back, and I'm looking forward to enjoying the barbecue again soon.
It was definitely worth the trip from Massachusetts, and we'll be making this a regular stop whenever we're in the area. It's the best BBQ we've had in quite a while. The pulled pork sandwiches were incredibly flavorful, and the portions were generous. You absolutely must try the baked beans – they're amazing! The restaurant is family-owned and the owners are very friendly. I really hope this place succeeds; they truly deserve it!
Our trip to Vermont for the CharlesWorks foliage tour led us to this restaurant. Susan ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which came with coleslaw and onion rings, while I chose the country fried steak with the same sides. Everything was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were quite reasonable. Although it's mainly a take-out spot, there are a few tables where we enjoyed our meal. Please note that there are no public restrooms. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend stopping by if you're driving through this part of Vermont.
