We also ordered burgers and fries. Unfortunately, the buns were stale, and the burgers were heavily seasoned with what tasted like Lawry's seasoning salt. The chicken tenders were decent, and the side salad was acceptable, but the coleslaw tasted like it came straight from the grocery store's prepared food section. The total bill came to $28, but we couldn't read the handwritten receipt; we suspect we were charged for drink refills. Honestly, the food didn’t seem worth that amount. The restaurant itself felt cold and cluttered, resembling an indoor garage sale more than a dining establishment. In hindsight, I would have been better off spending the $28 at the grocery store on Ore-Ida fries, coleslaw, and breaded mushrooms since that’s what we received here. It’s disappointing to see a place that used to thrive for its tenderloins and pie decline to such a low point. Additionally, the owner refused to accept a $10 restaurant.com certificate that had recently been posted on the site, claiming she wasn’t enrolled in the program. She said a "restaurant guy" signed her up and suggested I call them. I will not be returning.
There are limited hangout spots in this area of Indiana, but this restaurant stands out as a pleasant place to be, even beyond its mere presence.
I absolutely adore this place! It's the perfect spot to kick back, listen to some music, spend time with loved ones, and, most importantly, savor some outstanding wine! The slushy drinks are also a must-try.
