Was Anonym at Ithaca Restaurant a mag?
Ithaca has been our go-to takeout for many years. The portions are very generous and affordable, and the staff is very knowledgeable about GF. The only thing in the dinner for 4 (1 pork, 1 chicken souvlaki, potatoes, rice, salad, tzatziki) that has gluten is the garlic bread, which does NOT touch the same grill as everything else. Excellent, home cooked Greek food. Will always return! View all feedback.
What Kaleb Harber dislikes about Ithaca Restaurant:
My review two years ago, said it was not as good as before. Now even more so. We tried this place again last night, and which will certainly be the last. We ordered pork and lamb souvlakis. They were awful, being virtually inedible.. I left half the lamb as it was so tough and rubbery that I could hardly cut it. I suspect it was a very old 'lamb' indeed. The pork was not much better. Oh well, the next time want Greek... View all feedback.

If you're looking for great Greek food this is definitely a go to place! I went during the week to grab a quick lunch and the restaurant was fairly empty.
I wouldn't say the food is greatBut it was okay.__I would give this place a 2.5 out of 5.__Presentation was kind of sad looking.
We decided to check out Ithaca when we saw that some of our friends had been there recently.

Oh well, the next time want Greek food we will have to go elsewhere. What a shame, as the ambience is good, although quite dated, and the octopus can sometimes be OK .

I went to this restaurant with a friend for dinner. I am Greek and must say that this was the best Greek restaurant that I have been to in years in Toronto. Although the place appears a bit tired on the outside, do not let it fool you. Inside it is quaint and reminds you of the Greek islands. The service is attentive with a friendly greeter and regular check ins for refills of our water. I had the lamb souvlaki and it was cooked medium and was tender and tasty. Perfect. The potatoes were delicious as was the salad. Steamed vegetables were perfectly steamed and were of great quality. I appreciated that the meal was not drenched in oil. It was seasoned well and tender. The entrees were a bit pricey compared to what one may have been used to in past years for Greek food but when you taste the food and compare it to similar meals at other places, it is actually comparable and better food. I would highly recommend this place. Wine selection by the glass was limited for both white and red but they were reasonably good picks.
We ordered the chicken only dinner for two. The souvalaki was delicately seasoned and flavoured well, along with the rice and greek potatoes. The salad was also good. Portion sizes are good. After placing my online order, I put a note for pickup time and called as the online site stated that it would be ready in the next hour. Everyone I dealt with was very customer service oriented. Takeout was fast and efficient and was packaged and ready when I came for pickup. Will definitely order again.
As I am moving out of province I wanted to have lunch with my cousin before I left. Both of us like Greek food. So this is where we went. The server was very friendly and the place was extremely busy for lunch(a great sign)! I have been wanting gyro in pita for ages so I ordered that with Greek salad. So so good. Thanks for the pleasant experience and meal.
This is my new favourite Greek restaurant. They have pretty much everything on their menu. Souvlaki (chicken, lamb and pork), Gyro, Lamb chops, Roasted Lamb and Rack of Lamb. I had the rack of lamb and it was amazing. Falling off the bone, juicy and full of flavour. It wasn't too strong of a lamb taste, which is a good thing. The meal came with fresh garlic bread for free. Yes for free lol. It wasn't the cheap stuff either. The Greek salad was one of the best I've had. Loaded with tons of veggies, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes, and olives. I wasn't a big fan of the sides that the meal came with. Steamed veggies which tasted very plain. Also in the menu it mentioned the meal came with roasted potatoes Greek style, but they tasted more like plain boiled ones. The service is pretty good and prices were reasonable. They also have a delivery service and offer take out. Can't believe this place has been around for 15+ years and I just found out about it now. Much better than most places in Greek town.
We dropped in here for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t that busy. There was only one server. He did everything including bartender and bus boy. He seated us and brought over 2 glasses of water. We ordered 2 chicken souvlaki’s $23.95. And it came with a salad. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the veggies and potatoes were also perfect. I love the Greek decor and the Greek music playing. Food and service was great.

Absolutely loved the salad. My mom thought it was a little sour from the dressing but I liked it. I liked the lamb souvlaki, it was meaty and tasted great! Seasoning was suitable. The rice was not sour, so that was great.Pork was kind of pinkish in some parts, and the salad had some old leaves as seen by the stains.Only the manager was working the ENTIRE floor on this Monday lunch hour. Manageable, but it was hard work. He was running everywhere. There was 1 big party and like 5 small parties. Because he was so busy, he didn't have the time to check in with us or else we would've spoken up about the salad and pork. Regardless, we just left those parts in the plate. The decor was amazing. It truly felt like we were in Greece. This is my mom's second time having Greek food. She loved it!
Charming Greek restaurant located on Highway 7. The servers have a very neutral demeanor, presenting as polite but lacking in emotion. The chicken dish was exceptionally juicy and cooked to perfection. However, the fish and chips were a bit dry and appeared to be overcooked. The portion sizes were generous.
Ithaca is an excellent restaurant for groups and families. Of course you could come as a couple, but it's unique plus was how well they could manage a table of 15. That's harder to come by than a table for 2.So with that lens, our large family got a variety of different dishes that all arrived at the same time which I'm very impressed by. Each were well portioned, cooked properly, and delicious ?The only reduction in my star rating is because they seemed a little more polite and friendly to Greek individuals at the table, and ignored my requests (and I'm visibly mixed asian so I felt like they wrote me off). There were no comments to make me feel this way, it was just a lack of attention when I lifted my hand to get their attention, or when I asked for a refill of water, or when I needed extra napkins since my little cousin spilled water all over my side of the table..
This restaurant serves the best roast lamb I have ever tasted! It offers authentic and delicious Greek food. Our server, Vasilis, was excellent and knew exactly what we needed. He was friendly and funny. The atmosphere and hospitality at this place reminded me of dining in Europe - no pretentiousness, just delicious food and honest service. The other server was also great and they all worked very hard. My boyfriend and I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Greek/Mediterranean cuisine. Thank you!
I had an awesome dining experience for our lunch! The staff there is super friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. They went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. The service was fast, and they had a smile on their faces the whole time. It really added to the overall positive atmosphere of the place. Can't wait to visit again! ??️?

2017/11/11<br/ We had dinner at Ithaca several years ago, and it was time for another visit. The restaurant was much less than half full. On a Saturday evening I thought it would have been busier. We were promptly seated at nice table for two, beside the front window. <br/ <br/ We ordered our drinks with one server, and they were quickly brought by another server. They obviously use the team serving approach, which we have observed at other Greek restaurants. We ordered our meals, and while we waited, a couple of flaming cheese dishes were lit at other tables, with a resounding “OPA!”.<br/ <br/ SWMBO picked the Chicken Souvlaki and mine dish was the Moussaka (which the waiter said was one of his favourites). While the main courses were being prepared, they brought our Garlic Bread and our Greek Salads. The bread and salads were fresh. The salad was just the right size as a starter. <br/ <br/ SWMBO’ chicken had nice grill marks, and was tender and juicy, with just a little bit of seasoning. She said that her roasted potatoes were better than others she has had. <br/ <br/ My moussaka was one of the better ones that I have had. The béchamel was creamy, but not runny, and it had some flavour. The ground beef and eggplant layers were also quite tasty. The whole thing was good. <br/ <br/ I like the team approach. Service was very good.
I come from an area of Canada that has a large Greek community, and this some really amazing Greek cuisine. I have to say that Ithaca truly matches up well with any of these that I grew up with. They have the friendly service, the extreme generosity of portions (you should never leave a real Greek restarant without leftovers), and such a great authentic taste that is often lost to me here in Ontario. Hats off to to the owner who shares my name. He's gotten it right. Best Greek place I have been to in the twelve years I have been in Ontario. I will go back, and recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Greek food.
