Many Hakka restaurants compete for your business, but this is the one to check. Clean, but just not much to see, but the food is incredible.
We went for dinner to this place in Markham based on some reviews I read on Groupon. As soon as we entered we saw it was busy and we were seated at a table quickly. No one asked us for water for 10 minutes and...the waitress seemed rushed and in a hurry to take the order later. We ordered some Cantonese veggie chow mein, schezuan tiger prawns and bean curd with vegetables. We also ordered small veggie corn soup and a small chicken corn soup. The soups were good though less salt. The chow mein and the veggie bean curd seemed to have the same brown sauce which turned watery in a little while. The tiger shrimp came with cauliflower in it which was surprising. The taste was okay. The waitress annoyed my husband when she literally shoved the rice bowls on to his plate. She only apologized when he called her back. I wouldn't go to this place again.
Just came home from the trip and decided to eat something new in the area, only on average. I'm not saying that the food I have is bad.
Food used to be good, but it's gone down-hill over the last 2yrs. No wonder they have to use Groupons to get customers.Service has been decent consistently, but the food has been erratic since Fall 2015. The waitress suggested that their chef quit, so they brought in a new chef. We've had their lunch specials and dinner menus, and the food's quality has been on a constant slide downhill. Not only are their no longer as spicy as they used to be, they're bland (un-salted) too. That along with excessive amounts of MSG is killing it!!

We went to this restaurant for the third time and the food was just as delicious as our previous visits. We had to return to try the Crispy Beef again, which was amazing – crispy, sweet, and full of flavor, much better than the neighboring Hakka restaurant. The Chili Chicken (dry version) and the Chicken Cantonese Chow Mein were also excellent. Unlike most Chinese restaurants, there is a short wait before the food is served, but it is worth it as the dishes are freshly prepared, well cooked, and flavorful. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting. We can't wait to return.
As a white male in my mid-20s, I must say that this restaurant offers great value. The lunch special is unbeatable, serving a generous portion of food for under $6. Although I'm a picky eater and usually avoid curry or Indian dishes, I thoroughly enjoyed the General Tso's chicken. Highly recommend checking out this spot!
Visited here because they had a deal on Groupon which is essentially a bill credit. Glad I saw it because if you're looking for an affordable, flavourful, dinner that reminds you of flavours from your childhood (or your Indian or Asian friend's childhood) then this is a good place to come by for dishes that have some spice, some bold flavour and some familiarity. <br/ <br/ It's right across from Costco so makes a good after shopping trip for a meal. HUGE portions.<br/ <br/ I recommend the house special chow mein. Any of the manchurian dishes too are great.<br/ <br/ Atmosphere is very greasy spoon, but the food is on point for when you some want something hearty, yet full of flavour.
Initially, we intended to have lunch at Federick Restaurant next door, but it was closed on Boxing Day, so we ended up at their neighbor Hakka King. The restaurant was spacious and well-maintained. It wasn't very crowded, with an equal number of customers ordering takeout or dining in. Hakka King still had a fresh feel, with patrons carefully studying the menu and asking many questions. I believe that over time, this could become a popular spot in the area.
