Was Peter Nguyen at Green Tea a mag?
Father's Meal with Chicken is the absolute best. It's basically a Hamburg Steak, with chicken katsu, sliced cabbage, potato salad and white rice. Comes with 2 slices of oranges and miso soup. View all feedback.

What James Cheung dislikes about Green Tea:
EDIT : June 7 2023: As of yet, I 've received no update or any direct contact information. EDIT: Owner, i see your response below but you have not provided a Name/phone number/or email that I can contact and speak with you personally. I 've been eating here for years but the quality really has gone down. The chicken omelette rice contains almost ZERO chicken.. I 've asked them about it and the lady said it 's chicken... Visited while I was wandering around the area and decided to order the chicken katsu curry rice which was good. The katsu was fried to perfection with a crispy exterior and tender interior and the curry sauce had good flavour. The portion size is all quite big for a reasonable price. Food was served quite fast as well. Their homey cooking and atmosphere are nice if you want to enjoy a comforting and filling meal with a friend or by yourself.

Located in the heart of J-Town, this quaint cafe offers straightforward service with a no-frills menu featuring all the classic dishes. Prices are reasonable overall, although the bottled drinks may seem a bit on the expensive side.

E: Cafe Green Tea is a casual lunch spot that offers a westernized take on Japanese cuisine, featuring dishes like sushi and sashimi. While the food isn't extraordinary, it's decent and certainly not uninspired. The menu board above highlights options such as Japanese omelettes, curry (which is milder than its Indian counterpart), udon noodles (thick wheat noodles), soba noodles (available cold or warm), katsu (deep-fried meat cutlets), and donburi (rice dishes). On my last few visits, I've enjoyed the katsudon, which provides a satisfying portion with well-prepared garnishes like sprouts and green onions. Its taste reflects a home-cooked quality, as it almost feels like it is. On one occasion, someone ordered katsu curry for me, and I found it to be simple yet delicious. While I was informed that the curry was a bit too "watery," I personally enjoyed it. In a blind taste test, I doubt I would notice much difference between the katsu served here and what I'd have at a small eatery in Kyoto. The garnishes, such as Tonkatsu sauce (likely the Bulldog brand from Japan or Kikkoman from the USA or Japan) and Fukujin Zuke (pickled vegetables like daikon radish), are consistently available with the appropriate meals. They offer a selection of hot and cold canned drinks, juice, and self-serve containers of water. One of the drink containers resembles coffee, but the cashier shakes her head to deter customers from it! I’ve occasionally brought my own drinks from Heisei Mart, and they’ve never objected. Just for fun, I’d like to order "green tea" one day and see the cashier's reaction; I highly doubt they serve it there. Overall, most typical Japanese dishes are available here at prices below $10. If you're like me, however, it's hard to resist wandering into the supermarket afterwards (hello, natchan and Pocky!). A: In terms of atmosphere, the restaurant's name is more fitting than the menu suggests. It has a no-frills cafe vibe with simple chairs and tables. It’s part of the J Town (Japan Town), a small Japanese complex that includes Heisei Mart, owned by Keiko Hibino, the spouse of Takeshi Hibino. They source much of their supply from the market they share space with. Like many classic Japanese cafes, Cafe Green Tea offers a selection of Japanese magazines for diners to enjoy. The menu items are displayed above the cashier in both Japanese and English. T: The service here is prompt, as you order at the cash register. I recommend paying with cash, as the debit/credit card terminal is quite grimy. It’s a bit off-putting to think about touching that and then handling your food! Please clean your card terminal! Regardless of what you order, the food arrives quickly—within 5 to 10 minutes for curry, katsudon, or tonkatsu. Parking can be a challenge. I often find myself driving around the corner to park in the back because, as mentioned, this restaurant is located next to a grocery store and several other Japanese businesses. S: At Cafe Green Tea, you place your order at the cash register, choose from the menu board, receive a number, and find any available table. The cashier or one of the cooks will bring the food to your table. In this sense, there isn’t traditional table service, checks, or follow-ups. Diners are expected to leave their empty trays or plates on a rack near the cash register after they’ve finished eating.

This charming little café brings warmth to the delightful J-Town. I am always a fan of their deep-fried pork chops served with the sweet Japanese curry (Katsu Curry-Don)! It's absolutely delicious! The rice pairs perfectly when soaked in the sweet curry. Taking a spoonful of curry-soaked rice and following it with a bite of the savory, crispy pork chop feels like a heavenly experience! I adore this quaint café and everything J-Town has to offer. It's a wonderful spot for food enthusiasts like me to explore and discover new culinary adventures!
