Was Ivan Choi at Bake Code a mag?
Tried their Tiramisu Swirl Croissant; a bit too hard and chewy... looks great for pics but not worth the price of a large BBT loaded with toppings. Their Tofu cheesecake on the other hand delicious! I've had their regular croissants in the past and they never disappoint. I may not be a fan of the Swirl croissants but kudos to them for being creative. View all feedback.
What Lynn E dislikes about Bake Code:
The pastries have lost their flaky and crispy texture and aren't as fresh as they used to be. It seems like they've changed their recipe, as everything used to taste buttery, but that’s no longer the case. Perhaps they're using less butter and substituting it with something else. View all feedback.

Love the salted egg croissant and the ufo coffee bun. But the Markham location doesn't have a lot of the special items until later in the afternoon.
I normally love Bake Code buns but today I ordered an Oreo Cream bun through this location on UberEats and it had literal pieces of WOOD in the bun. I was sharing the bun with a friend and she thankfully didn't swallow any. I don't understand how something like this could be overlooked so carelessly especially when it could cause dangerous choking hazard or damage the esophagus when swallowing. Very disappointing... To other customers who often order here, I'd suggest going to a different bakery or location. God forbid this have been fed to a child..
Good bakery but slightly overpriced and those sausage buns are a bit too greasy. The roll cakes are very good, particularly the sesame roll cake. Bubble tea are your typical bubble tea, tastes good.
Recently made another trip to this Bake Code a Euro Asian bakery chain in Markham when grabbing bubble tea from Chatime for my family. This is a cozy hybrid between the two stores in a plaza of different food places and T&T. While Chatime has always been a reliable choice for me, I have noticed a lot of variation in Bake Code over these past few years in terms of both pricing and quality of pastries. I remember the first time I came, I absolutely fell in love with their filled croissants. My family and I have tried the salted egg, matcha, roasted milk tea, and double baked almond croissants and they've always been delicious which helps me swallow the premium $5.50 each! I'm paying for them. However, this time wanting to try new options we also got the salted egg yolk pineapple bun and taro mini loaf to share. Both were extremely dry and unsatisfying compared to the croissants. There was barely any salted egg yolk in the bun and the loaf lacked flavor despite its rich purple color. Perhaps their specialty lies purely in their croissants will stick to those only next time!
