Market Rasen Golf Club

Played at Market Rasen yesterday (7th Sept) and was really impressed by how the club looked after visitors. We had an issue with a 4 ball of members sneaking in before us and playing very, very slowly with no consideration to those of us behind. After 3 holes we had 3 groups on a tee waiting for them. To cut a long story short it ended up with the lady captain (can't recall if she was the current or past lady captain) who saw us playing as a 5 ball, ended up ringing the pro to get him to come out and sort this 4 ball out so we could go back to a 2 a 3 ball and enjoy the round. Fantastic course, lovely breakfast and sandwich afterwards but the fact the members understood why we had gone to a 5 ball and rather than being arsey about it, they got it sorted so us 5 and the 2 ladies behind who were also visitors could enjoy the round. Fantastic advertisement for the golf club.

Unfortunately, the pre-round bacon sandwich experience was organised chaos, but once the handicap discrepancies on my scorecard had been resolved I had a highly enjoyable round of golf on a course in commendably good condition considering all the rain we've had in the last month

Excellent golf course. 1st hole is a beast but the rest is good for players of any ability. Clubhouse serves good food with good service
