Went to the cost for my 20th birthday, decided to spend the week enjoying good coastal restaurants and indulge in the best food and drinks I cold possibly find, and I must say Friar Tuck is most deffinetly on the very top of my list as the best place that I dinned at that week.. Thank you for the Birthday song, you guys made me feel so welcome. View all feedback.
What Christy Hawyes doesn't like about Friar Tuck:
Do not call yourself a steakhouse if you cannot serve an actual fillet when one is ordered. I ordered a medium fillet and received an overcooked sirloin. I sent it back and they brought me another sirloin, albeit well cooked this time. My husband's ribs were cheap quality ribs and overpriced. The only thing I can compliment them on is their waiter, who was an absolute star. I hope he finds better employment very soon... View all feedback.
Friar Tuck has a very friendly staff. The theme and the decor is spot on, and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Especially the tree and foliage that definitely added to the atmosphere. The prices weren't bad, and I would definitely recommend the prawns, which were perfect to my taste. The kingclip was a bit dry, but that's a common issue not specific to this restaurant. The bathrooms were a bit old, and not as clean as I would like. It's not wheelchair accessible, be prepared to climb some stairs. The patio has a nice view of the street, which could be nice for viewing one of Margate's many events. All in all, I definitely recommend going here.
The steak was cooked to perfection and delicious, while the fish was just mediocre. Unfortunately, the burger was dry, overcooked, and the bun seemed stale. The music was too loud for conversation, and the same song kept playing on repeat for 15 minutes until we asked someone to change it. On a positive note, the waiter was friendly, and the decor was intriguing. With a few improvements, this could be a really nice restaurant.
I'm not usually a big steak eater, but the Asparagus Steak at Friar Tuck's is absolutely incredible! I was really disappointed when I finished eating because I wanted to keep enjoying it! The food is excellent, the service is fantastic, and dining at Friar Tuck's is a wonderful experience overall!
I really appreciate the interior design; it has a unique charm that’s hard to find elsewhere. However, one problem we encountered was that many items on the menu were unavailable. My chicken was slightly undercooked, but the chef quickly addressed the issue. It was a unique experience since no other restaurant offers dumplings on the menu, and they were absolutely delicious. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. On the downside, the restrooms could use some extra care. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but there are definitely areas for improvement.
Absolutely superb service! I had the Sunday lunch, and it was fantastic value with delicious food.
