Spent a week in the area and this was the best meal of all! We had the salmon and scallops which were fresh and just melted in our mouths. We had the most delicious creme brulee after our meal. service was excellent and the view was beautiful. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Island Sunset Lobster Pound Bistro:
Four New England men on a golf trip from Inverness (Cabot Links) to Ingonish (Highland Links) stopped at Island Sunset for a midday break along the Cabot Trail. We were told that the fresh boiled lobster would take about 40 minutes due to prior orders, so I opted for the fresh lobster meat with drawn butter instead. The view is spectacular! The food is good. I definitely recommend this restaurant although their children's meals are not very impressive. The mac and cheese looks like KD. The crème in the crème brûlée was dry and not very creamy. I had the half-and-half and it was perfect.
Great lobster rolls and chowder served from the lobster pound on the deck overlooking the inlet. Good food and great scenery; could you ask for more?
OMG OMG OMG. The Hilton of lobsters shacks. We passed by here out of chance when we saw the sign on the street, so glad we went there. 13.99 per lb of cooked lobster. And you get to pick the live lobster from the tank and they will cook it on the spot for you. The lobster they had were gigantic, i cant even finish one myself. Next time trip to nova scotia definitely will come here first thing after landing.
Charming family restaurant with an extensive menu. the lobster was ok (should have asked if it is frozen or fresh) but save room for the strawberry shortcake!
We stumbled in to this by mistake, and glad we did. Nicely laid out with views for every one. We had the salmon special, and it was fantastic at a resin able price. The only fault is they ran out of blueberry pie. I will have to go back one day.
