Alpine Gran Foda'

Weekend with friends in a new structure for us, we found the Gran Fodà hotel to be a friendly, welcoming and quiet environment; has private parking in the building and direct access to ski slopes and ski lifts; we took advantage of the half board service which we greatly appreciated both for quality, quantity and variety, with a buffet breakfast offering various sweet and savory choices, and a four-course dinner with a buffet of appetizers and side dishes and a double choice of first and second courses of both meat and fish; welcoming, well-kept and very clean rooms, with views of the surrounding nature; all the staff, starting with the director, are very helpful, professional and attentive to every request and need; in our opinion the price is in line with what is offered; We will definitely return and highly recommend it.

After the change of owner disappointed The offer of the kitchen/breakfast is by far no longer what we used to in Gran Foda or in other hotels in South Tyrol. Plate cold, food lukewarm. Breakfast no fruit salad, no bread, only cheap baking rolls. Staff in the service are quite overwhelmed. We have never experienced such a cool departure in a hotel. Neither a thank you, whether everything was in place etc. The new managing director is rather in the office than helping the staff. Guest care is not his strength. The South Tyrolean cordiality was completely lost due to the change of ownership. There is a lack of a management that leads with body and soul this beautiful hotel.

Wonderful location, direct entry to the slopes, very nice and accommodating staff, cosy rooms. The selection of breakfast rolls is really a bit disappointing, otherwise I do not understand the often expressed criticism of the food at all: very classic, varied Italian cuisine with exciting vegetables and an excellent fishing trip to choose from every day. Good and inexpensive extremely fair wine selection of the only drop of wormwood: The departure to the hotel is plunged from noon, bucky and softened, the most unpleasant slopes throughout the Kronplatz

Despite its excellent location, our stay at this hotel was a hearty disappointment. On the last meters of our 700 km long journey we built a car accident and this with an all-wheeler due to the inadequately clean and scattered entrance of the hotel. The “Manager” had previously instructed us to park right in front of the entrance, without mentioning that this was the steepest and most badly clean piece of the complex. Despite the new snow, which, of course, requires special precautions, especially in the case of several arrivals this day, the safety of the guests was obviously not guaranteed. Our vehicle slipped down the slope uncontrolledly and was only stopped by another car, a misfortune that, as we learned, also ran away from other guests. The breakfast was average: baked rolls, juice from the canister, although the cheese was of good quality. The departure was similar to problematic as the arrival; when we parked, we came back in the slide. An employee of the hotel offered his help, however, was little confident and the so-called manager even refused to scattered goods, on the grounds that he had only salt that was not helpful on ice. A longer discussion did not result. From the ascent to the public road, everything was tidy – in stark contrast to the conditions on the hotel grounds, which obviously does not have the necessary equipment for the snowroom. This stay was not only disappointing, but also very risky due to the negligence of the hotel regarding safety. I can only strongly advise you to stay here.
