Ole Farmstead is no longer here. Restaurant at this location is now the Legacy. Nice place to stop for a burger if you are driving north from Columbus, right off the road. View all feedback.
What Huston S doesn't like about Ole Farmstead Inn:
It's closed and replaced by Legacy restaurant and bar. Entrance has been moved. The bar side is done restaurant side is not. Interior so far is nice and lots of TVs. Food is not the greatest or mediocre. Oily seasoned steak, dry burger, cheap frozen GFS fries. Fries should've been fresh cut. Burger should be hand pattied instead of frozen consistency. This place was good 2 years ago. It has been taken over by a chain. Bad service and bad food now. The iced tea was okay.
This place should have more stars than they have. It is going through a renovation and that was the only negative cuz the smell of adhesive or something was strong but it's looking great and the food is good. We had eggs, bacon all cooked perfectly. Hubby loves sausage links and always thrilled when a place has them. I also had grits which aren't available everywhere. Staff is friendly and attentive but not intrusive, they kept the coffee flowing. In my many years of traveling 71 to Columbus and back I've never stopped but I will from here on. Looking forward to seeing the final renovation.
Driving down I-71 today on my way home to Cincy, I was wanting breakfast but not from a chain place. I love a good local, greasy spoon and I came across this place. I was so hoping to love it but my experience was really bad. I ordered a western omelet which comes w/ hash browns and toast or an English muffin. I also added a side of sausage links. When the food was set down, it looked fabulous. Hash browns nice hot and perfectly crispy. Sausages had great spice happening and the English muffin perfectly toasted. The omelet looked and tasted incredible. After a couple of bites of everything, I was in love. But then, it happened. I found a hair in my omelet. As gross as this is, I thought 'ok, it happens. ' My waitress took it back to have them remake it. Um.....ok but now I 'm naturally reluctant. She comes back but only brings the omelet and sausages. I asked about the hash browns English muffin. She says They didn 't give them to you? You brought the food and set it down. Did you not notice there were no hash browns or muffin? She walks off to get them and it 's then that I realize that when they took my first plate away, the silverware went with it. Now I have a plate of food in front of me but have to wait for a knife fork. She comes back a few minutes later with the hash browns muffin and I asked about silverware. By now she is embarrassed and I 'm irritated. So, I hesitantly cut into the new batch of food. The omelet tasted good but I had pretty much lost my interest at this point. I took a bite of a sausage and it was cold. The hash browns were cold as well. Another server, who I think was also the manager (not sure) came by and apologized. I will say my server and the manager were friendly and apologetic. They didn 't charge me for anything which I want to say was a nice gesture (and it was) but considering all of the mishaps, I really think it was the least they could do. I didn 't come here for a free breakfast. I came here for some good, down-home cooking from a local spot that 's just trying to make it in a competitive industry. That being said, there 's just no excuse for this morning 's mistakes. I would normally want to try and recommend a place like this but I can 't and won 't.
I am so glad I ignored the negative reviews here! I'm enjoying a delicious grilled buffalo sandwich w delicious fries. Service has been perfect !!!
