I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Now, let's talk about the food—wow! It was truly delectable. We began our meal with two appetizers: the Crab Cakes and Stuffed Mushrooms, both of which were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Chicken Parmesan as well. I will certainly be returning! I went to the restaurant with my mom on Saturday at 5 PM. Although there were open tables available, we were told it would be a 45-minute wait because those tables were reserved — even for 6 PM reservations. We would have finished our meal well before then. Given the restaurant's small size, it seems unwise to take so many reservations at the same time, which could allow for more seating for walk-in customers. We left feeling very disappointed. When we informed the hostess that we would not be waiting, the manager, who was nearby, simply said, "Okay." It was disheartening. We ended up dining at the original R&R and were never disappointed there. We won't be returning!
I’m really, really disappointed that the RR Steakhouse is closed. I just found out that Niko's is set to open there in July. Do we really need another Niko's? It's such a shame. The RR Steakhouse was truly special; the food was fantastic, and the prime rib was simply out of this world. The service was exceptional too—I never had a bad meal there. Good luck to Niko's, but they didn’t do well in Huntley. I had a poor experience the only time I visited their location in Huntley, and it’s been closed for what, eight years now?
This restaurant is quite small, and I'm not entirely sure why it bills itself as a steakhouse; it feels more like a bar that happens to serve steak. The ambiance resembles that of a converted home. While the steaks are decent, the sides are more unique and intriguing. They serve plain white bread as their accompaniment. The service can be a bit slow, although the staff is generally friendly. In today's dining landscape, it's possible to stand out with a quirky vibe, exceptional food, outstanding service, and a manager who makes every guest feel like a VIP, regardless of who they are. Unfortunately, this establishment doesn’t quite seem to offer that experience.
We try and eat at R R at least twice a month. They really make you feel like family and their food is AWESOME. In fact that is where dinner is tonight!!
Overall very underwhelming. Steak was good but not great. A little fatty. Au jus was good. Atmosphere was nice...homey feel. Service was extremely slow...had to seat selves which was not the worst thing...other than we didn't know what to do when we first walked in. Confusing array of aromas some good some not). We finally realized it was because someone ordered fish...DO NOT order the fish. Steaks were $20 and up. Were supposed to come with salad potato and vege. Salad dressing was horrible..and our waitress made the executive decision to eliminate the vegetable....which we later were informed it was beats...not what you would expect with steak. So, all in all, just as other people have said if you want a good not superb) steak...and nothing else for $20-$25 then go there! However...everyone deserves a second chance...so we will try again.
