What Liesel Rapp doesn't like about Café Barfuss:
Die nette Studentenkneipe in der historischen Altstadt kann man wirklich empfehlen. Mittags im Café Barfuss: nette Bedienung, hübsches Ambiente, prima und reichhaltige Speisekarte. Das ausgesuchte Nudelgericht (grüne Bandnudeln mit Rotwein-Sahnesauce, Cherrytomaten, Paprika, Oliven und Hähnchenfleisch, darüber Parmesanraspeln) war sehr lecker und die Portion von der Größe her ordentlich bemessen. Stil has changed, peculiarity too, times are gone, it is only a part of the tourist road where nobody cares when they visit again.
It is not my first visit in this restaurant. it serves what most other restaurants in the old town, namely run up (casserole). the rise here is in the average somewhat more expensive than elsewhere. I had the run-up barefoot today. It...was quite okay, although the scalions did not fit into this combination of pasta, chop meat and vegetables at all. they gave a strange taste to the whole meal. pro is that your chop meat is bark meat that is rarely found in other restaurants.
We captivated «flame cake» for lunch and this place had several different toppings, so we chose it. After they arrived and saw the menus (placed on the tables), it took minutes before someone came and commanded us. (at that time we noticed that the guests go) after ordering two flamingos and a bottle of wine it took a few minutes to get our drinks (as on the earth can last so long then it took a few minutes to get our flamingos. both eating and wein were delicious, but after eating it started to wait again to pay this time. all in all we spent and min on our lunch, usually wait. that said eating was delicious, cheap and service friendly. if the service had been faster, I would have given this location a higher score.
The restaurant is located in the center. It's possible to eat outside, there is not a veranda but tables in front of the place! I enjoyed the simple soup of carrots with ginger!! They just have German menu but they help with translation and choice!
Stopped in for supper, Thursday night after early November. Restaurant was packed only a handful of free spaces. We each ordered a supper, traditional schnitzel (jagerschnitzel and schnitzel with rahm sauce) with fries, spaetzle, salad, beverages (local beer and wine). Server was fast,...efficient, friendly despite a very heavy workload. Salad was excellent (radiccio, rocket, romaine, fresh herbs) -really fresh greens, well seasoned, simple vinagrette. The main meal was served fresh cooked and piping hot LARGE portions. They did not rush us along, we really enjoyed the meal and student pub like atmosphere. Wish we had tried the casseroles (auflauf) the restaurant is known for or had more time in Marburg to return.
