Nice restaurant in old town area of Marburg. They have a very large menu, so there should be something for everyone's taste. The food, while not fine dining, is always very good. The staff is very friendly and service is always very quick. Both indoor...and outdoor seating is available, The prices are very reasonable. View all feedback.
What Sigurd Rippin doesn't like about Auflauf:
I've ordered their specialty - casserole which was tasty enough but overall it was very salty. (I generally find German food salty). My husband ordered a vegetable with pork dish which was very oily without much flavour. Service was okay - the waiter got confused with our order. View all feedback.
This place is just great, out of place a bit, in century. The food is old fashion OK, there are the inevitable tapas but in general, Auflauf and that is a blessing, not a curse is still like Kneipen used...to be in the old days of Marburg University but smoke free, luckily. For us, the generation of last century, go there, you will feel like in your own student times, go to enjoy the variety of beers, the easy as well as the heavy food; and, for the students of the century: go there, and forget the coffee bars, hipster tapas and vegan stands, and enjoy analog. The mens toilettes need an uplift, but even that is familiar from the old times not to be schic, but a bit worn out..
Auflauf is a traditional meal and a must in Marburg where you really tate potaes with cheese and a variety of vegetables, a white cheese sauce, baked slowly. It's slow cooked and you must have enough time to enjoy the smell and taste. Carefull it'...very hot!!. Service is good as in any place in this Universitätstadt Marburg. Staff is allway asking if you need something, giving you great advices of good beer or also the best wine for your meal. The restaurant it self is a place to see, very oldfashon and well preserved. The street, the neigborhood is great
The restaurant has changed it's name but staff still very friendly and prices cheap. Nice seating also outside. Beware the zwiebelkuchen pastry is tiny for one person
Not bad but certainly not good food. Also the service was very average, and eventually I had to go to the cashier and ask for the bill (after waiting 30 minutes).
Went to a restaurant with my bf and his colleague. Service is really good, staff is absolutely 100% kind and nice! The atmosphere is friendly and appropriate for families, couples, friends, anybody. Food is very good but I wouldn't give it the best rating.
