The Banana Tree Marbella

Much has changed about the Banana Tree since we reviewed it (for breakfast) in December 2021. We come to visit family who live and work near Marbella, and this is our fourth visit since then. It is fair to say it has got steadily worse. It seems the likely reason is a change of ownership. Food, from the complaints we hear, has deteriorated we tend to just have jacket potato for lunch, which is fine but the worst aspect is that there are far too few staff, who seem harassed. Two waiting staff and two behind the bar is the maximum these days, when there can be 80 customers waiting for food and drink. It would have been a 1 star, but we have sympathy with the staff, so just about 2 stars.

We stopped off here whilst having a stroll along the front. Staff were friendly, efficient and we enjoyed our drinks and snacks. Some bars/restaurants can be quite pushy but this place is laid back but attentive. We will return and recommend to others.
