This is a place without pretense, but it could do with some. Nice location, nothing fancy (on the contrary). Once seated and sipping a (quite poor) red house wine, you learn that lunch can only be served/ordered from 1PM onward (until then apparently one eats breakfast)
We loved their food! Try the ensaladilla, the freshly cute ham, and the calamares! You won’t be disappointed. A real Spanish bar for having tapas on the seafront. And, also very important, the staff is very nice :
This used to be one of our popular beachside restaurants as the location is great the food used to be tasty but reasonably priced. period of 15 years . Another attraction was that well behaved dogs were allowed which was a magnet for the grandchild! We took our family for a leisurely meal, under protests of rude service or being ignored when they went six months ago, last week. Regrettably, only one young man serving food drinks so understaffed, people were walking out complaining at being ignored, sticky plastic tablecloths...owner sat with his friends drinking... the cook came out to clear the tables asked how was the food. Calamares thick inedible, salads basic uninviting, prawns pil pil chewy White flavourless defrosted??? her answer was that they had changed suppliers. They need a proper cook more staff if they want to survive. Clearly Pepe Largo does not care any more. Tapas used to be great! A leisurely long lunch with friends or family. Not any more.
I hope to try again but it wasn’t a great experience the only thing that was good was the chefs food thank you Waiting staff aren’t currently as good as the kitchen chewing gum waiting tables is not a good impression and we were served warm wine and dirty wine glasses lots to work out but I’m sure it lo get better
