Eric has most probably received your reservation request, but has rarely responded to it in the past. To be on the safe side, please call and ask if they received your reservation request from Menu. We were greeted by a grumpy old man who just seemed pissed off from the start. Even though we spoke spanish he just utter si or no never giving us a smile. We were able to order 4 servings of ice cream and a lemon tart. The lemon tart was ok, the ice cream servings were tiny, smaller than a normal scoop, and at a price of 4,50 euros per serving. When we asked for the bill it took close to 10 minutes to get it. The way we were greeted by this old man, the slow service and overly priced ice cream pulls this down to the worst experience so far in Spain. Go to Ben and Jerrys or Haagen Dazs outside instead of this place.
We ordered coffee and croissants after being ignored for 10 minutes. The croissants came and 20 minutes later we saw the manageress greeting a newly arrived couple. We asked how much longer we would have to wait for our coffee. She wandered off and eventually came with 2 of the coffees. The other coffees arrived and I asked her why no apology? We have a problem was her reply. I had vowed never to usurp this establishment again but our friends wanted to come I replied to the manageress that you always have a problem here. With 10 staff all busy doing nothing I am at a loss as to why they are still in El Cortes Ingles!!
