What User doesn't like about La Casa Vieja:
We went to La Casa Vieja with quite high expectations after reading the reviews and were disappointed. The 'rabas' were chewing, the 'arroz con mariscos' was overpopulated and the pastas were average. Even dessert, a chocolate mousse, looked so pale that it hardly looked hard chocolate. We won't come back. View all feedback.
It was great to re-visit this Mar del Plata classic, for locals with a good palate, traditional restaurant. Food is unpretentious with excellent attention to ingredient quality, portions are generous. Wine list has improved since our last visit, service is sober but super efficient. Pricing, while not budget offers better value than a couple of competitors which we also visited during this long-weekend trip with the family. Overall, I think that La Casa Vieja is one of the best kept culinary secrets in Mar del Plata. It doesn't get the press and the hype of other places but matches and outshines many of these better known places. In my opinion, this restaurant is not to be missed if you visit Mar del Plata.
Delicious and not expensive, is located in a place not very comercial, but if you find it, you will enjoy it.
This was the best sea food restaurant that you can eat in the port area. I am argentine and I used to lived here in mar deal plata this restaurant still being the best. The fried shrimp, the calamaretties, the flounder with pink some and the lasagna are incredible this is an real Italian- sea food restaurant.
Great food and great service, I would go back again!!! Highly recommended.
