Great food great staff and wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend this place and they take reservations we had no waiting.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Service at Broadway Oyster Bar – October 2, 2024 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service my family and I received during what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner at your restaurant on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. We had a reservation for four at 6:30 PM, specifically chosen to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday, as she recently discovered a love for crayfish on our summer vacation. Having previously visited Broadway Oyster Bar for the live music and drinks, I had higher expectations for the level of service, especially on such an important occasion. We specifically made reservations to ensure everything went smoothly for her special night, and while the food was undeniably great, the service was beyond unacceptable. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, the service was appallingly inattentive: • Our server promised my daughter a birthday dessert—bread pudding—something she had been looking forward to. Whether it was complimentary or not was irrelevant; the issue is that we were never even offered dessert or asked if we wanted anything else. • We didn’t receive refills on our drinks at any point in the meal, nor were we asked if we wanted any. • Additionally, I ordered a half-pound of cold shrimp as an appetizer, which never arrived. Any competent server would have added that to the ticket without question, but it was entirely neglected. As a chef who has worked in some of the most renowned kitchens in St. Louis, I never reveal my background because I like to observe the service as any ordinary diner would. Unfortunately, the lack of attention and care displayed by your staff left a lasting negative impression, especially for a restaurant that prides itself on being a local institution. Service is just as important—if not more so—than the quality of the food, and this experience clearly showed an alarming disconnect between the two. My daughter’s birthday was marred by this neglect, and I expected far better from a restaurant I previously held in high regard. I’m bringing this to your attention because it is vital that these issues be addressed immediately, so that no one else’s special occasion is ruined by such poor service. Great music and fantastic shrimp tacos. Manager Steve is wonderful

We really enjoyed out dinner at Broadway Oyster Bar. We sat out on the patio and the atmosphere is very fun with a dive beach party vibe. The oysters were fantastic. We also had fried alligator, Catfish nuggets, and jambalaya. All the dishes were very tasty. The service was great and very friendly. We had rum runners and the drinks were delicious and potent. It was our first time here and we were made to feel right at home. Looking forward to our next meal here.
