Love the Boathouse. The food is exceptionally good (we had delicious gumbo, yummy shrimp and a huge ham club) and the live music even better. Love catching the tunes of Stone Sugar Shakedown when they perform there View all feedback.
What Old P doesn't like about Boathouse At Forest Park:
Stopped for a relaxing lunch by the lake. The experience was obnoxiously loud music with long guitar riffs. We sat as far away from the band as possible, but didn’t help. It was a challenge to know when your order was ready as there is no longer table service and they tell you name when the food is ready. This is one favorite STL stop we will now avoid. Great outdoor venue on a beautiful fall day. Spring salad and brisket toasted ravioli were very good. Was hoping for Sugarfire BBQ sauce instead of the commercial brand. Also ran out of Pilsner at about 2pm
Absolutely basic food. Fried mushroom, French fries and bbq chicken sandwich could not even make it to the standard bar. Similar to the typical food you get an amusement park. The lake view isn’t that great either. Just the fact that it is located in the heart of the Forest park makes you pay a premium price on everything.
A place every one should visit for tourism and relaxation
We gad a giid time in the paddle boats but was disappointed the restaurant was closed.
