The spicy tempura roll is really delicious. We ordered new menu Aburi Combo. It's owsom. Highly recommended. They say they make all their sauces themselves. The sauce is truly fantastic. . Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
It's the most delicious food I've ever had. It's a sushi restaurant, but the chicken is also good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I ordered Ramen on Skip and it showed up mushy with very little soup/ liquid in it. It was hot and tasted ok, but I expected there to be more soup. Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$10–20 Food: 2
Spending $100 on food here doesn’t get you very far. They skimped on the tobiko even though I paid extra for it. The spicy tuna roll lacked any real spice; it seemed like they forgot to add the hot sauce. The seaweed salad was mostly just lettuce. Everything tasted acceptable, but for takeout nowadays, it's not cheap. I wonder if restaurants are feeling the financial strain too, which might explain their use of fewer ingredients. These are tough times, and it looks like I’ll be dining out less often—it just doesn’t feel worthwhile. **Service:** Dine in **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** CA$20–30 **Food Rating:** 3 **Service Rating:** 4 **Atmosphere Rating:** 3

Several friends had recommended this place so decided to try it. Was impressed by quality of ingredients, taste and value while dining in. I ordered take out twice after that visit and sushi did not meet my expectations. It was not any better than the sushi you can get at a grocery store. Unsure why the quality wasn't consistent with my first experience.
Recently remodeled, Hamada is a great place for lunch or dinner. Sushi lovers will be pleased with the variety and quality. Their chicken teriyaki is my personal favourite with mizo soup. Reasonably priced with good service and pleasant staff. Eat in or take out.
I LOVE the sushi at Hamada. I have to eat gluten, dairy and egg free and they always acommodate me. If I remember correctly, the wasabi they use is a 9 on the GF guide. I assume it isn't a 10 because they don't specify where their mustard comes from. Great choices, great prices, excellent and friendly service. If you dine in, ask the chef to recommend something; I've never been disappointed.
Food is excellent, doesnt take long to prepare and prices and reasonable. Hamadas has awesome chefs behind the sushi counter and even better serves. Highly recommend to anyone.

Had a chance to finally go back to this place after several years and my recent visit was good. The place was not busy at dinner time so we got seated right away. There’s only 1 person working at the front doing everything and he’s friendly. The rolls are a bit smaller but tastes good. The Chicken Karage I’m expecting is different from what we’ve got. The Tempura are good as well.
The place we originally wanted to go was closed that day which was why we went to Hamada. The food is okay but the staff wasn’t friendly at all. She was quite cold to be honest. We had come from across the border, so we ordered extra to take home. The waitress made a comment about me wanting two meals. Then when we requested a to-go box she said yes, big dinner. It had been years since I was last there but after the way we were treated, I’ll never go there again.
Great food. Looks great. Tastes great. Service is a bit slow but its worth it. The Nigeri sushi pricey but tastes great
We use to go here all the time, but have found another closer to home. Nothing bad to say would recommend!
We used to be regulars at Hamada several years ago, before ownership changed. It would have had a five-star review from me back then. We arrived shortly after 6pm on a Thursday night and there were only a couple of tables in use. Tiger was our server. She has been at Hamada for many years and has always been more than helpful. My wife had an ebi sunomono to start and said it was good. I had the agedashi tofu which I used to love, but not as much now. The coating is different, maybe thicker, so I wonder if the frying system has changed, and there were no green onions (of which I am a fan). We had the red dragon roll which was as good as I remember (my absolute favourite, thanks to Tiger's recommendation), the Hamada special roll which has no rice and was quite tasty, the dragon roll which my wife pointed out had less eel than before, the green hornet roll which she also felt had little salmon in it, the kanasake tempura which had a huge, heavier coating compared to the previous version, and my wife had a chopped ebi cone which was not closed at the bottom so she had to fold the bottom up in order to eat the cone. So while the taste of most of our food was good, the quality for some of it wasn't as good as it used to be, especially for the price. Does that mean we will not eat here again? No, we will just know what to order and what not to, and it will be a once in a blue moon thing due to the cost.

We ordered take out and were very disappointed with what we got for what we paid. my sunomono leaked in the bag and I ended up with a lot of the liquid all over my table when we were unpacking our food. The rolls didn't look like they were rolled very tight and most of them fell apart when we picked them up. We ordered the Tuna Takaki and got enough of the sauce for 2 maybe 3 of the pieces. Must say that we won't be ordering from here again. We used to eat here every Friday, but started ordering from somewhere closer to home. The sushi has really gone down hill from the last time we were there.
Seafood yaki udon tasted of old seafood, especially the chalky and bitter tasting muscles. The sauce was overly heavy and didn't remind me of anything remotely Japanese.
Absolutely the worst sushi I have ever had!! How can sushi be greasy? Go to Hamada and you will find out!! So disgusting I couldn't even finish it. If you want any service you will have to get up and go find your server because they aren't coming to you. Worst food and worst service. I would give a negative point score if it was possible. Yuck!!
The spicy tuna sashimi was beautifully cut and fresh tasting. Very delicious, they also have Korean fried chicken and a half order is a perfect portion. If you get a chance stop in a support this local restaurant. I believe it's family run and they were very kind and prompt service. Will definitely go again.
