The food w... read more Absolute hidden gem of OBX, only a quick ride from the main strip. Nestled in a quaint Inn, this was the best experience we had on the entire island. The food was extremely fresh and well-presented. The drinks were also properly curated, clearly the signof someone who is a master at their job. The true locals seem to have a home here too. Just the place we were looking for.

I had the fish of the day on both nights. Well prepared, tasteful and elegantly served. There are three all-timewaterfront restaurant views on Roanoke Island, and 1587 definitely has one. The dining room is cozy and you have a water viewfrom every seat. Any closer and you'd be on a boat. They don't do seatings larger than 6 right now, so plan on an intimateconversation. Be patient, there is still a pandemic going on, they make great food, and good things take time. There is ashortage of supplies for all restaurants right now, have ... patience. This dining experience, as of right now, is so worth it.
