We started at the bar while waiting for a table the bar tender has been around a while and really is a bartender pouring a honest pour. We were seated at our table greeted well by our server tha appears to be stressed but still reasonably attentive. Apps were fine, nothing over the top just fine. My wife ordered pasta Bolognasse that she said was good.. not great. Let me say this when you call something by a classical name, know the product; Bolgnasse is not simply ground beef meat sauce.. it is much more. I ordered the broiled halibut with a lime hollandaise sauce. I grew up in California where halibut was almost junk fish that being said I have enjoyed it often. When I bump into it in middle America it makes me a little twitchy as to what the end product will be and can the kitchen actually pull it off. This time I would say unfortunately no. Here is what 50 years in the kitchen says: If you are going to broil a mild fish .. season it properly first a little good salt an pepper and a shot of unsalted butter goes a long way.. Gove it a try. Never put a hollandaise sauce on the plate then put a fish that has been broiled on a liquid on top, the hollandaise washes out and doesn 't stand a chance. All this to say my fish was too plain and flat in flavor. However, keep in mind this restaurant has stood the test of time and is one of the better true restaurants.
