The Black Bull Inn - Mansfield

I went in and was elegantly greeted by a shy young man who was very friendly, along with the rest of the staff I spoke to during my most pleasant visit. I and my husband had dinner and we both had the classic chickenburgers. we only waited about 15 minutes before a very friendly lady brought us our delicious meals. the food was divine and I enjoyed it so much I was abit cheeky and treated me and mean man to a pudding. we had both chocolate orange sponges and maybe it was the best thing I had for a long time. as a vegan I found that the toilet facilities were very modern and clean and was a most pleasant experience. I will be back very soon, what I hope to be a very exalted experience, just like the one I had today.

All the staff were exceptionally friendly and made my visit very pleasant. Food was divine and didn’t have to wait long at all for it to arrive. My husband and I enjoyed it very much and we will definitely be coming back in the near future and I expect many more times after that.

I think I've fallen upon a hidden gem of a pub! I'm not local to the area and was just passing by and realised I was ravenous, I ordered the mixed grill (steak medium rare) and it came out absolutely perfect! I got talking to the locals of this establishment who were most accommodating and all in all had a great but to brief visit. Next time I am up from my home in Cornwall I will definitely be stopping by this place again!!

After winning a' taster new menu' evening I can honestly say the food here is absolutely amazing. I tried a range of main meals deserts ..all was super delicious..plentiful. of the highest standards. The owner staff was very friendly can't do enough for you..the place is welcoming spotless I'd highly recommend this gorgeous pub will definitely eat here again ..thank you every1 x.

Food has gone down hill in the couple months since we last visited. Booked a table for 530pm. Ordered mains which were a bit disappointing but we ate them. At 620pm went to order desert only to be told they had stopped serving. At 620pm!!!! Absolute joke. Nowhere online, at the pub or by any of the staff does it say food stops being served at what we assume is 6pm. Why book people in at 530pm to eat when you apparently don't provide full service time. We left then and there. Wrote a letter of complaint because its out of order that no one told us. Won't be returning. There's most certainly better food at better pubs and frankly better service in terms of communication.
