I also got the succotash and it?s the most refreshing succotash I?ve ever had. Wine was fresh, vibes were good and all the waitresses were exceptionally sweet. 10/10 recommend! The hush puppies were toasted perfectly outside and cake-y inside, deviled eggs with sprinkled crispy bacon a nice appetizer. Pan fried scallops with fresh thick cut fries-yummy! My wife had pancakes-one was enough for a meal, and it comes with three! We will absolutely be back!

The place is clean, the waitress was so friendly and the food was really delicious. I had the fish and chips. The white fish was cooked to perfection (2 large pieces), great hand cut fries, and the cole slaw, hushpuppies and tartar sauce were out of this world. Not to mention everything was fresh cooked and hot!! We will definitely stop again.

The restaurant was clean and the service was very good as it had been the previous 2 times. My wife and daughter had the fried fish dinner. The fish was very tasty and plentiful. They both had to take leftovers home. It came with hush puppies which were excellent. My wife Is a hush puppy connesuer. I had the friend fish sandwich and was expecting a single slab of fish but instead it had two. It was served on a fresh, lightly toasted bun and was very good. All our meals came with homemade fries which were cooked nicely and not greasy. The waitress stopped by several times to check on us and responded quickly to our requests. Each dinner was moderately priced and was a good value for the quantity and quality received. We'll be back again. Don't be put off by the strip mall it's located in.

We take al... read more Ever since we discovered Halterman's, over a year and a half ago, we eat there at least once a week. They are over a 20 min drive but WORTH the trip! We take all our friends there and recommend Halterman's to clients. We've had almost every item on their menu and have NEVER been disappointed. Both the servers and kitchen staff are very kind and attentive. I HIGHLY recommend Halterman's to everyone!

However, I have nothing but positive things to report from our visit! I ordered the jumbo shrimp and substituted collard greens for the fries. The 5 jumbo shrimp were lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. But the collard greens stole the show! They were absolutely delicious! The two hush puppies that came with the lunch plate were also amazing and not greasy at all. The service was friendly, accurate and attentive. The prices seemed like they were a little high but it was certainly worth it. I'd go back again and try something different- like the seafood chowder I saw listed on the daily special board!

We have enjoyed seafood at many seafood restaurants in Virginia and Maryland but this restaurant in definitely one of the best. It was clean, service was great, food was plentiful and absolutely delicious! We ordered 1/2 pound steamed shrimp (they were jumbo) as an appetizer and one fried seafood platter to split for dinner. My husband had a side salad that was large, fresh and delicious. He also had a delicious baked potato, loaded. I had greens which were also excellent. The seafood platter was huge and perfectly cooked. We had 4 large fried shrimp, 3 scallops, one crab cake and two very large pieces of fish and hush puppies. We took enough leftovers home for another meal. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Bring a big appetite and enjoy! This is a gem of a restaurant!
