We always felt very comfortable here with the best caramel latte macchiato and very good cakes/tarts...to our regret and that of the operator, the cafe was closed...very, very sad Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A very familiar café where you always feel welcome. The service, no matter who it is, is always friendly and the owner's homemade cakes are almost unbeatable. Whether you're enjoying the cool breezes by the window in the summer with an iced coffee in your hand, or looking at the bright lights while sipping a hot coffee in the winter, the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Apart from the busy peak times. In addition, Meyerbeer has been a tradition for 20 years. UPDATE: Unfortunately, Meyerbeer Coffee closed its doors today. This means that Mannheim's city center will become a little more homogeneous again. I will miss the nice people and recurring encounters, as well as the home baked cakes. No replacement will be found. Since an extended visit to Thalia is now hardly worth it her own café, which is soon to open there, lacks soul simply due to the fact that it is ultimately just a bookstore I will probably have to use Amazon in the future to send me my books. However, finding a replacement for the Meyerbeer Café will be difficult, perhaps even impossible. At least I won't end up in Mc Thalia. I also get a sterile atmosphere, off the shelf baked goods, rubber buns from Grimminger next door and strange faces at Starbucks. Take care, dear Meyerbeer family. It was Great with you.
