Vue's Thai - Manitowoc
Vue's Thai
Description
Vue's Thai serves authentic, affordable Thai with attentive staff, generous portions and spice-level customization; many praise pho, pad thai and curries. However, experiences vary: some diners report bland or watery curries, onion-heavy or oily preparations, misassembled takeout and occasional long waits. Ideal for casual lunch or dinner, it delivers memorable hits but inconsistent execution means orders can be a gamble.

Vue's Thai offers excellent food that truly impressed me. While the restaurant's appearance isn’t fancy, the quality of the dishes exceeded my expectations. It was my first time trying Thai cuisine, and I was very pleased with both the menu and the attentive service. A great place to enjoy authentic flavors!
The food tasted good, but the restaurant was warm inside and lacked wheelchair or handicap-accessible entrances and restrooms.
The Pho broth tasted like plain salted water and had minimal meat, even though I ordered two servings of the special combination. It definitely wasn't worth the $11. I couldn’t finish it. The Pad See Eew was just okay. I’ve never had it with broccoli before; it usually comes with Thai collard greens and handmade thin noodles. Instead, they used dried store-bought noodles, which didn’t taste as good. The boba tea was decent, but it could have benefited from more flavoring because all I could taste was sugar.
This place is incredible! I've never had Thai food this good before. When you place your order, they always ask about your preferred spice level, which I think is fantastic. I usually go for medium, as I enjoy a bit of heat, and it was just right for me! The service was excellent; my server came over quickly, took my order, and my food arrived piping hot and very quickly. Once I tasted it, I couldn't believe how delicious it was! The portions were generous too, so I had enough left over for the next day, and somehow, it tasted even better then. I can't wait to go back and try something different!
I visited this town with a group of 100 people from my team, and one of my colleagues recommended this restaurant, praising the food as amazing. While I don’t doubt their experience, mine was completely different. The presentation of my dish was terrible. I called just three minutes before closing to place a takeout order and was assured it wasn't too late. I ordered Masaman Curry with tofu and chicken, plus extra rice. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that I ended up throwing it away. It seemed like they didn't want to put in the effort to properly prepare my meal, as they served me deep-fried or possibly pan-fried potatoes instead of the curry I expected. These potatoes were drenched in oil. Who makes a Thai curry with fried potatoes? To make matters worse, my container was mostly filled with fried potatoes and hardly any sauce — and Thai curry is all about the sauce. The sauce itself looked old and overly oily, which was really unappetizing. Additionally, there were way too many peanuts and barely any tofu or vegetables. Overall, this was the worst Thai curry I've ever had. I truly believe the restaurant can do better, but it seems they rushed my order because they wanted to close. I give this place one star. Despite the disappointment, I even tipped them for staying open a few extra minutes to take my order. Now I'm left feeling hungry and sad. I really wish my experience had been better.
