Highland Inn - Manitou Beach

It's a great location for a local watering hole. Parking: Limited spots to park around the corner where this bar is located.

Went on a taco Tuesday, they were definitely understaffed for the packed house. Our waitress was not friendly but not rude just frazzily busy. The food and the drinks were good, even though we waited an hour for the meals.

As a native Texan, I have to say that their tacos are uncommonly good. I would eat them any day of the week. Great atmosphere and history.

My wife and I won 't be returning. The service has always been friendly, but if you 're an outsider, good luck getting quality service. The food has always been good, but everything we tried to order, they were out of or are no longer serving even though it 's still on the menu. Takes way too long to to be approached by waitstaff after getting seated. The cups are very small, and staff is inconvenienced and too busy to get you refills. We asked for drink refills when we ordered, and ten minutes later a tray of drinks was brought out, but for the table next to us, which were friends of the servers. We politely asked about our refills, and we were told yea, I 'm just doing a lot of things right now. We had hoped this year would be different, but it is still exactly the same as last year.

The food was great, the service was great, and the owner took the time to tell us about the Highland Inn history.
