This was our first visit to this pub and it was a delightful experience. We decided to come for Sunday supper and were in the mood for a delicious traditional roast. View all feedback.
What Frederique Schaefer doesn't like about Boardwalk Cafe:
Despite this being listed under restaurants, it's not actually a restaurant in Mandurah. It's a boardwalk near the Performing Arts Centre and houses bars, cafes, restaurants and eateries. The boardwalk is a nice place to walk and take in your surroundings, however is not a restaurant in its own capacity. Just stopped for a coffee. Excellent coffee, friendly service and marine views. It's a lovely stroll around here accessed by a walk over bridge. Very relaxing.
Just afternoon tea, but very pleasant,to sit and watch life walk or glide by. Service reasonable and food was tasty, want a cuppa and something to eat near the water, go there.
We just happened to meet a woman on the train who lived in Mandurah who surprised us with amazing hospitality by offering to drive us from the train through her town. We would never have seen half of what we did if it were not for her kindness and generosity. She showed us the canals where people park their boats in the water outside their homes like most people park their cars in driveways in North America. I loved that part of Mandurah. Thank you for that! So impressed with her kindness. Then, she took us back over the bridge to the boardwalk area and dropped us off where we found a place to try some pineapple fritters. It was getting dark so we wanted to walk along the water and munch on something. They took forever to give it to us, so we missed most of the sunset. However, we could still see the colourfully lit ferris wheel reflecting in the water across from us. If we had been there much earlier in the day, it would have been fun to try that little amusement park. The water and the reflection of lights made it romantic enough for my husband to ask me to dance to our own music at the gazebo. Very fun memory. Then, it was time to catch the last bus back to the train station. Overall, this become one of the best memories of our stay in Australia.

Lovely to get a real holiday feel by walking the boardwalk and the length of the promenade. Saw some boys crabbing, also the local resident pelican stealing some chips from someone's takeaway! Quite amusing. Finished with a lovely lemon sorbet from the ice cream shop, it was a bit expensive though at $7.50!
