I also got the sweet potatoes, which were delicious. I tried the spinach and artichoke dip, and it was fantastic—homemade chips really made it stand out! The eggplant sticks and fried mushrooms were incredible too! Just a heads up, they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The restaurant is located at the foot of the Causeway!

When I arrived, I saw a round table with six chairs, which seemed perfect for our party of six. However, the host hesitated and informed me that he wouldn’t seat us at that table because it was reserved for larger groups of eight or more. Instead, he offered to clean up a table for four for my family and me. I couldn't help but wonder if this treatment was influenced by the fact that my family and I are Black. Who knows? After 20 years in the restaurant industry, including time as a general manager, I politely said it was fine and decided we would go to my wife's first choice, Hambone. He agreed with a smile. That was better.
