Was Cameron Woodward at Hambone a mag?
Delicious food made with high-quality ingredients, and it seemed to be prepared and served with a lot of care. The restaurant is quite kid-friendly, featuring a fenced-off front area with games and plenty of space for children to play, making it ideal for a family outing. While the indoor space may be a bit cramped for kids, it’s absolutely perfect to dine outside when the weather is nice. View all feedback.
What AprilP dislikes about Hambone:
We were seated in the very back room and it was so insanely hot. There were no fans that could’ve made our visit more comfortable. On top of that we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When it finally did come the waitress said that our wait was because of an 8 top that came in right before us. As if somehow that would make our wait acceptable. My husband’s food was stone cold. The only downside is that parking can be difficult—you may need to make a few laps or park a few blocks away and walk. However, it's definitely worth it for the delicious food you'll be enjoying. North Shore has truly impressed me with the hidden culinary gems on this side of the lake, and Hambone has become the highlight of our brunch adventures with my group of eight friends. We gladly make the drive across the Causeway knowing it will end with satisfied appetites and cherished memories at Hambone. As for accessibility, there’s a ramp leading up to the building, although there is a gravel seating area outside that requires some navigation. For those with dietary restrictions, there are plenty of vegetarian options, and the staff has been great at explaining the ingredients to ensure there are no surprises when your food arrives.

We didn’t send it back because we were worried about how long it would take to fix the situation. We’ve dined here before and had a great experience…this one just wasn’t. Granted it was Father’s Day so it was busy….but they were seating too many people for how backed up the kitchen was.
This restaurant has a warm and unpretentious atmosphere. I didn't think twice when I ordered the chicken sandwich, boudin, and gumbo – just a quick bite before heading to church. The chicken sandwich was absolutely amazing; the flavor was perfect! I rushed to the kitchen to find out who had prepared it, only to discover that the chef resembled Seth Rogen. This guy is like a culinary magician. There’s something extraordinary about his cooking, bursting with flavor! Even though I'm not usually a fan of gumbo, his version, paired with potato salad, changed my perspective completely. I really hope this place keeps this chef, because if he makes his way to LA, New York, or Chicago, he’ll surely become very successful. The food was simply the best I've ever had, and I’m nearing 50!
I'm really sorry to see this place close down. The fried chicken and skillet biscuits with homemade pickles were absolutely amazing. I hope to find these talented chefs at another local spot soon!
Charming restaurant with a lovely outdoor play area for kids. Unfortunately, the food was quite salty, which left me feeling underwhelmed. I had lunch there, and the service was decent. The atmosphere was also nice, but overall, I wasn’t very impressed. Price per person was around $10-$20. Ratings: Food: 3, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 3.
