Rolling Hills - Mandan
Rolling Hills
Description
At a truck stop restaurant that caters to weary travelers, reviews reveal a stark contrast in experiences. While some diners praise the outstanding service, large portions, and delicious offerings, others express disappointment over poor treatment and long wait times. Instances of ignored customers and food served lukewarm have surfaced, suggesting staffing challenges on busy nights. Although the menu features fresh and flavorful dishes, such as the popular Knoephla soup and Fleischkuechle sandwich, inconsistent service has led to divided opinions. Despite the critiques, many patrons remain hopeful for a better experience on future visits.

My family dined at this restaurant twice, and both times my daughter and I suffered from food poisoning. The food did not meet our expectations. The first night, my husband and I both ordered the chicken dinner, but the only good thing about it was the fries. The second night, my daughter was too sick to eat, but my husband had an omelet and I had the Texas chicken sandwich. The fries were hard and the omelet was soggy. The waitress was friendly and welcoming, but the prices were extremely high. Unfortunately, despite my love for small diners, I will not be returning to this one. My daughter and I are still recovering from the food poisoning nearly a week later.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. I arrived hungry and left very full. Ashley was an excellent server. I loved the Knoephla bread bowl soup and the Fleischkuechle sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
First off I know places are understaffed but that wasn't the case here. This place is a joke. Our waiter took our order and once we received our food it was OK. Nothing too hot or warm. My husband said they over cooked his steak. Our party didn't receive their food till someone in our group said something. After the waiter took our order he never came back to the table to check on us. We had to get up and ask him (twice) for items we were missing. My son wanted white milk instead of chocolate milk and didn't get it till after the meal. My husband and I order kneophla soup and asked our waiter about it because we did not receive it. We still never got it. We were lucky to get anything after asking twice. We told him we wanted the bill split up and we had to draw it out for him. It clearly wasn't his first day either. It seemed like he didn't care. Poor service. Will not be back.
