Contribute FeedbackIn a bustling industrial area, Vegan Green Kitchen attracts diners with its diverse vegan Chinese menu, featuring both traditional and inventive dishes. While many rave about the flavors—especially the Lamb in Black Bean sauce and the satisfying chicken alternatives—others find certain items, particularly meat substitutes, underwhelming and greasy. The vegetable options generally impress, yet specific dishes like Tofu Mapu disappoint with texture issues. Diners appreciate generous portion sizes but find them overwhelming. Despite some mixed reviews, particularly regarding delivery experiences, a significant number of guests plan to return for their next vegan Chinese meal.
The restaurant offers delicious food with large portion sizes and a wide variety of options on the menu.
The delivery menu had a wide variety of options to choose from. I noticed that many dishes leaned towards the sweeter side, such as sweet and sour, lemon sauce, orange sauce, and kung pao. I decided to order the lemon chicken along with a more savory mixed meat dish in black bean sauce. The meal reminded me of traditional Chinese takeout with its sweet and oily flavors. Out of all the meats I sampled, the chicken was definitely the standout.
I ordered four out of the five items on the menu, including chicken and sweetcorn soup, seaweed, special fried rice, and chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts (served with a side of salt and pepper chips). The total bill was over £35, which I found to be quite expensive, especially since the chicken dish did not contain any actual chicken pieces. The special fried rice had a decent amount of meat substitutes, but could have been more generous. The chips were okay, the seaweed had a good flavor but strange texture, and the best part of the meal was the soup. Although the menu offered a wide variety of options, I don't plan on returning to this restaurant anytime soon.
Wow! Everything we had was delicious! The Lamb in Black Bean sauce was by far our favourite and my girlfriend really loved the satay sauce! Meat eaters would never know the difference! Highly recommend this place for a great Chinese takeaway
I literally order from them probably weekly and am never disappointed! The peking “duck” is to die for, but so is everything else.
