Nestled in the bustling heart of the city, Trove Café is garnering attention for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious offerings. Diners praise the delectable brunch options and exceptional coffee, particularly the beloved desserts. However, experiences vary as some patrons report issues with service quality, including unwelcoming staff and rushed dining experiences due to table turnover policies. The reduction of menu items and the absence of favorite options like Bonsoy have also disappointed loyal customers. Despite these setbacks, many still find the café a charming spot worth visiting, especially for its remarkable bread and inviting ambiance.
The customer service at this restaurant was terrible and rude. We ordered a vegan and vegetarian breakfast, but were given meat sausage instead without any apology or compensation. We were still charged for the food even though we did not finish it. The manager was completely unhelpful and displayed racist behavior.
The bread at this restaurant is exceptional. While it may be on the pricey side, the quality makes it worth every penny. A single loaf can last for a long time and is almost a meal on its own. Additionally, they have the best coffee in the area.
Reduced menu no hot vegan options. £2 for a tea bag and extra on top for oat milk. Dirty IKEA glasses for table water. Slow service to round it off. Won't be returning
I used to come to TROVE on daily basis for my morning coffee which is good but not excellent, the staff is usually friendly. Today I came with a friend, ordered food, had our drinks but waited for at least half an hour for the food. After an hour we got kicked out and were told we had to leave before even finishing our food that came late. We were told that the table was booked for others. They didn 't even nicely suggest that we move to another table, they weren 't sorry, they didn 't tell us from the beginning that we only had an hour to stay there. So food is very expensive for what it 's worth, service is mediocre and takes an eternity, the staff is rude and not nice and on top of that, we were told that we had to pay with the card because they didn 't even have a change and again never sorry for any trouble or inconvenience that they may cause to the customers. When I suggested to the staff that they could have nicely told us to move to another table instead of kicking us they told me that of course 'IF YOU WANT ANOTHER DRINK YOU CAN STAY '. Meaning you NEED TO PAY IF YOU WAWNT TO STAY. I read other reviews and realized this has happened quite often recently so personally I won 't be going anymore and I won 't suggest to my friends to go to TROVE. Unfortunately, some people care more about making money than keeping customers which is not smart in the long term.
Have eaten here a few times and always been very happy with their food/service. Today we got kicked out after an hour because they said they had another booking for our two seater table. We had a very young baby with us and we were not told when we arrive we would only have an hour. Our food and drinks had taken a while to come out so we were still eating when we got told we needed to leave. We spend £23 over the hour and would of happily stayed to get cakes and more drinks. What a shame this has put us off for the future… will be going a few doors down from now on, which is were we went after. Places are turning into money making machines rather than looking after their returning customers. I would advise you ask how long you have the table for if you go here to avoid being kicked out early…
