What Sapna Francis doesn't like about Mehfil And Banquet:
Disgusting and dirty place. The man with the beard and tattoo especially made my friends and I uncomfortable with his loud and bad attitude. Poor service bad food! Save your money and go elsewhere. View all feedback.
Today, I visited the restaurant in person with a friend for lunch. I was taken aback to find it next to a Best Western, a chain not typically known for elegance. However, upon entering Mephil, I was delighted to find a spacious and beautifully set dining area. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Even though the restaurant was quiet, our server remained extremely attentive throughout our meal, ensuring our drinks were always topped up and asking if we needed anything else. I was a bit disheartened to see we were the only customers because I love to support great businesses, and from my previous experience, this one definitely deserves support! We started with a potato and chickpea appetizer that was full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. I appreciate it when food has a robust flavor without being overly spicy. The chickpeas were tender, and the fried potato patties stayed crispy in the sauce. For our main course, we ordered palak paneer, butter chicken, peshwari naan, and garlic naan. To be honest, the appetizer was so generous that I was nearly full before I even started on my main dishes! The butter chicken was delightful, featuring large pieces of white meat in a slightly sweet tomato-based sauce. Personally, I find that mixing butter chicken with chicken tikka masala creates the perfect curry! The palak paneer was equally enjoyable, striking a great balance without being too heavy on the spinach flavor, complemented by a wonderful mix of spices that enhanced the creamy, tender cheese. Interestingly, the highlight for me was really the naan. I joked with my friend that they should consider making pizza at Mephil! The naan had the ideal thickness, with a satisfying crunch on the outside while remaining soft on the inside. It was buttery and salty, making it the perfect utensil for scooping up my curries. I saved the peshwari naan for dessert. The fruit, coconut, and nuts were evenly distributed, and the bread had just the right crunch. It was a delightful way to conclude a fantastic meal.
The chicken masala was exceptionally well-seasoned and cooked—it was truly delicious. However, for $25, I only received four small pieces of chicken accompanied mostly by broth, which felt like a real disappointment. To make matters worse, the customer service was terrible. Our server didn't greet us when we arrived or when we left. The food took an unusually long time to arrive, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. They didn't thank us for coming or express any hope of seeing us again; they simply handed us the receipt and walked away. Given the size of the restaurant and the lack of patrons, we expected much better service. It’s unfortunate because the food was so good, but we definitely won’t be returning.
Ordered via UberEats for dinner, one of the items was missing. Had to contact Uber to get a refund. Goat Biryani was average, I liked chicken tikka only out of four items ordered.
Awesome taste, service and atmosphere. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat if I was a resident of Manassas.
We found this hidden gem while we were in manasas. This place is amazing and they serve the best North Indian food.We along with our friends tried Fish Pakora , Dhaba Daal , Chicken Amritsari (chef was kind enough to give us a bone in option) .Garlic Naan , Tandoor Roti was also good and the food menu has multiple options to try out from. They are open until late night 11 pm . The owner staff all are friendly so make sure to visit them if you are in Manasas area.
