Baloking - Manaoag
Baloking
Description
Nestled near Manaoag, this homey, affordable eatery serves generous, flavorful Filipino and seafood dishes—sinigang na bangus and a standout seafood kare-kare—alongside snacks and desserts. The atmosphere is spacious and welcoming (cats included), and staff are friendly and attentive; however, patrons should expect made-to-order timing and occasional long waits due to understaffing. Limited menu choices, intermittent coffee service, and tight parking make it less ideal for large groups or speedy meals, but food quality and value keep diners returning.

The five-star rating is primarily for the waitstaff. We were the only customers (they opened 45 minutes early), but it took a while for our orders to arrive, coming out one at a time. The Pinakbet was the first to arrive and was quite good. Next came the Pigar-pigar, which was tender and tasty. The Sinampalokang Kambing followed, and it was delicious as well, though it had little meat and a lot of soup. The Crispy Kare-Kare arrived last, and by then we were already full, so we ended up taking it home. I inquired about their coffee menu, but unfortunately, the server informed me that their coffee machine was broken.
The food was delicious and satisfying! The bulalo and crispy pata were fantastic!
This restaurant is very convenient to a nearby town and offers affordable prices. We can really taste the difference in the food, especially the seafood kare-kare, which we absolutely loved!
The food here is excellent. It's a lovely, quiet spot to escape the long lines at other restaurants near Manaoag. This place is simply ideal.
