The Roof Restaurant - Mamallapuram

The restaurant owners were inspired by their British friend to introduce veganism and vegan labeling on the menu. I tried the Masala potatoes, but found the portion size to be on the smaller side. The food is not very spicy, more suited for tourists. The prices are reasonable for a tourist area. The restroom facilities were also adequate.

We came to this coffee shop to use their free Wi-Fi since our accommodation didn't have internet access. However, after ordering our coffee, we were informed that the Wi-Fi was not working. This happened twice and we were very disappointed with the dishonesty. The prices were high and the facilities were not up to par. Overall, we do not recommend this place.

The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic and the staff is friendly. It is a very elegant establishment. However, the food was disappointing. The taste was not enjoyable, especially the red snapper which was undercooked and the rice was not fresh.

Had food there. Not the best restaurants out there. It was all right. I found other places better. But you may try it out yourself.

Это был наш первый день в Мамаллапураме. Мы начали его с завтрака в руф-топ ресторане нашего отеля «Рамакришна», тем более что подниматься из нашего номера на третьем этаже было близко. Мы были единственными, кто реализовал такое намерение. Видимо, ресторан все-таки сильно перегибает с ценами. Однако сидеть на верхотуре и обозревать Оттавади Кросс стрит под еще не палящим солнцем было приятно. Мы взяли зеленый салат за 100 рупий, яичницу из трех яиц (70 рупий), курд (простокваша, она же йогурт) и кофе по 40 рупий каждый. Сказать что-либо о качестве еды и ее приготовления по такому набору вряд ли возможно. Тем не менее, живя на третьем этаже, мы лучше других видели, что ресторан совершенно не пользуется популярностью. Случались вечера, когда в нем и полный свет не включали. Отчего в нормальном (в принципе) отеле так обстоит с рестораном, не очень понятно.
