The food was very good and prices rather on the high side but still a bit lower than the average overpriced "seafood" restaurant in Mahabalipuram. Portions much more generous than in other places. Nice setting directly overlooking the beach.Definitely recommended - when staying in Mahabalipuram head straight there for your meals and skip trying other places which will be mostly just tourist traps. What Tymon Wiśniewski doesn't like about Luna Magica:
Stay away from this restaurant, the manager is a thief and wants to make only easy money and immediately. One evening I had squid on the fish market to make them cook once at the table I found that half of them were missing, the fish they provided is rotten. to avoid with care. View all feedback.
Incomprehensible that the robber advises this place. At our arrival, we find that the table suggestions of the day is....vierge.Question asked about the world of possible: answer no problem, we have what to please you. Let's ask to see the fish = no luck, they're barely defrosted. The prices: the next joke. we find it rather high, but without precise lairs (earnings at the beginning of the stay), we end up accepting. by chance, we fall on a map and realize that everything has been paid double the menu prices. The scam server tells us that it's because the sea is bad, then. Attention you also risk falling on a day when the sea is bad then fishermen bubble of course... and fish recount their price.
This restaurant is tucked away in the middle of a fishing village. You could walk by it and not know of its existence. We went searching for it based on (again!) a recommendation by a French travel guidebook. Luckily, the locals we enquired with knew exactly where it was. This is stricly a low-budget joint with not much in terms of amenities - a grubby wash basin and a dingy toilet were used with due care. The seating area has a sand floor(!). We chose a table away from the sea to avoid splashes of surf in our food, which turned out to be a wise decision.Food here mainly consists of locally caught seafood - we asked to see what was available and went for some fish (the server claimed it was barracuda, but we weren't so sure) and tiger prawns. The preparation was suitably done to suit my French friend's tastebuds, and turned out to be quite palatable. Portions were quite generous and filling. Be sure to negotiate the rates beforehand, though, a suggestion made by the guidebook which was very helpful. An enjoyable experience, watching the waves roll in while sating one's appetite.
