very good food and drinks. there was a delay in the food that was served, but this was explained on the switch as ordered. no heating in caffe made it a cool experience. the personal was friendly, helpful and fast to clear tables and clean up. View all feedback.
What MillanAAP doesn't like about The Monk's Kitchen:
I understand that in England it is normal (or common) but for a foreigner it is at least shocking to find you inside the cathedral complex a restaurant. It's not in the sacred area but it's striking. In this case it is a little hidden and accessed through the magnificent cloister. As I went for merendar I can only say that I liked both the piece of cake I took as its offer and variety in terms of pastry. View all feedback.
If you are visiting the cathedral or just exploring the city, I highly recommend a stop at The Monks Kitchen. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant follows all Covid safety measures. I especially enjoyed the sausage and egg baps and the sausage rolls. I look forward to visiting again soon. Thank you for a lovely experience.
We went to this restaurant after visiting the cathedral with our two children. They had a wonderful selection of sandwiches and the waiter gave us a special guided tour. Our children enjoyed it and the food was delicious.
I had a delicious lunch after visiting the Cathedral. I was very happy with the portion size and felt that I got great value for my money. It was a fantastic meal out!
I came here for lunch on a cold and rainy day, really waiting for a warm and tasty lunch. Very disappointing. Our soup was warm at best, just like roasted potatoes. We were too cold and discouraged to bring the food back, otherwise we would have. Covid 19's hygiene rules are in effect, although we saw a woman without a face cover that was allowed to enter and wander without being questioned. And the bathrooms were portalos in the parking lot. There must be a lot of coffees in Gloucester that can do better than this. And to know how to have a good cathedral coffee, visit Norwich and Salisbury. Come on, Gloucester, cheer up your ideas!
Had a great jacket potato, loads of filling choice. Huge plate full for a fiver includes salad garnish. Pleasant service and covid secure. Coffee was excellent even the decaf
