We popped in for a quick lunch & we were greeted by a friendly staff member. The large coffees were certainly large & the iced chocolate was said to be delicious. My crepe was thin with a lovely lemon curd, the croissant was flaky with melted cheese a good amount of ham with a touch of green for freshness while the baguette had a good amount of ham with a crunchy apple slaw. Purchase a scoupon (or groupon) for the $13 for 2 person lunch. Minimal choice of food, and not all things on the menu were available - very little on the plates when they arrived. Would definitely not have been worth full price, and even at the deflated price would not go back. The food just wasn't that good. This is one of those places that when you eat, you go, 'where have you been all my life? ' Exquisite foods. Simple menu done so well! Absolutely love the pastry, so light so buttery, so yummy. Coffee lovers rejoice. This barista knows the craft. Undoubtedly 5 well deserved stars. My new favourite pastry shop.
Located in Malvern, this cozy cafe may have a limited menu, but the quality and flavors are truly exquisite. While the small staff may cause some delays, the house-made pastries are fantastic and definitely worth the wait. This cafe is definitely worth a visit.
The breakfast at this restaurant is very good. I appreciate the peaceful atmosphere away from the road. It is cozy and calm.
Every time I am in Adelaide I visit Gateaux... at least twice. They're known for their pastries and truly unique and delicious desserts, but do not look askance at the coffee- that's worth it all by itself. They know their craft and love what they do. The best spot to treat yourself in all of Adelaide, and beyond.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the coffee was good. It seemed like they were still getting the hang of things, but they tried their best to greet us and were friendly. They had a good variety of cakes to choose from.
