Great service, and tasty food. The former is not a given at even the more expensive restaurants in Seattle. Main dishes arrived after we had finished a leisurely appetizer. It is too bad that I have to call this out as exceptional, but the art ofdining seems lost in many establishments. We were pleasantly surprised by the pace of service, which was well-aligned with ourdining habits. Thank you for a great dining out... View all feedback.
What Yuan Jiang doesn't like about Tavolàta Stone Way:
Want to give a fair review, so I'd go either 2 or 3 stars. Most times we've gone it has been 4 stars. However, last couple times the meals have been extremely spicy. Like enough that we couldn't get through our meals without slugging water. May have been afew off nights, but just wanted to share my experience. View all feedback.

The food was solid. I liked the roasted beets and tomato appetizer. It was refreshing and crisp. Then it went downhill from there. My ravioli dish was cold on one part of the plate and warm on the other. It was also a bit salty. The foie gras appetizer came after we finished our entrees and it was very salty- a tell tale sign of mediocre quality. The dessert cake was a bit hard and felt like something you could buy at a grocery store pastry section. Our server was friendly and apologetic, however, given the food came out of order and very late, and we had to ask for our water glass to be filled each time- I can't honestly give it more than two stars. We came after the dinner rush.
Underwhelming and odd experience. They have a coat check at the front but the host didn’t offer to check any of our coats.Everything felt so slow there. Every food and drink item trickled out one by one. It took over an hour to receive our main course after ordering it. When we ordered more drinks in between the slowly trickling in food items, we would get some attitude from the waiter. If the food is going to take forever and all we get is one water pitcher (which took forever to be refilled) then you should expect that people are going to finish their drinks and want more.I ordered the anchovy garlic spaghetti and the optional meatball add-on. The meatballs came out 15 minutes earlier than my pasta dish in a bowl of marinara. The anchovy garlic spaghetti was so salty and overwhelmingly anchovy flavored, that I barely ate it.The waiter left someone else’s boxed up leftovers at our table. We informed her that they weren’t ours and she gave us a hard time about taking them back. Super strange interaction. It feels like they are trying to market this as a higher end dining experience but miss the mark on some key details. It feels odd receiving a $400+ check and having the waiter hover over my shoulder while I select the tip options on their handheld card reader for this bizarre experience.
Been meaning to come here for a long time as I’m a fan of other Ethan Stowell Restaurants and I believe they normally do a great job.Came for restaurant week, late-ish on a Monday. Not busy at all, kitchen wasn’t preparing a single item when we walked in. We were greeted promptly and sat. The music playing reminded me of a bowling alley or a grocery store, not an Italian restaurant where you’re paying $20-$30 for an entree.SRW menu was fun. Appetizers were mostly incredible. The Tavolata salad was superb and I’ll be back. Tried the beets which were also delicious and flavorful as well as the burrata which was somewhat of a let down, cheese was fine but what came with it was a bit odd (mustard and collard greens? .For entrees I had the short rib which was INCREDIBLY salty almost to a point of being inedible. The piece of meat was cooked almost spot on if not a bit over but every single element on the plate had far too much salt. I thought perhaps it was just the top of the meat but it was salty through and through. The ricotta ravioli was the favorite of the night with a nice complex sauce and a healthy portion. We also tried the potato gnocchi which was delicious when eaten with a perfect bite of gnocchi, sauce and cheese but pretty dry overall.I’d give em another go as restaurant week isn’t always the best display of what a restaurant can do but for the overall price I expected a bit more.
