We were looking for some good ol Italian food. The kind where if you peek in the kitchen you'll see grandma cooking. This is the place. Although we didn't see grandma, if you closed your eyes while eating you'd swear she was there. We had the lasagna and spaghetti carbonara. Perfecto! What Alex doesn't like about Al Boccalino:
Took 40 minutes before someone came to get our drink order. I had to go up to two separate waitresses to ask for someone to serve us. The first waitress I asked acted like I was bothering her- at that point we had been waiting for 20 minutes. View all feedback.
It felt as though we were dining at a quaint family-owned restaurant in Italy. It brought back memories of past vacations to Italy! The classic Italian dishes on the menu were all delicious. We will definitely be returning.
The food was okay, but the overall dining experience was quite unusual. The service was efficient but lacking warmth, giving the impression that the staff was just going through the motions. There was a lack of vibrancy in the restaurant atmosphere. We only picked this place because of its proximity to the stadiums as we were attending a game. With plenty of other dining options available, I would not choose to dine here again.
Great food and great prices but smaller than expected portions and we were hurried through every step of the process because others were waiting for the table otherwise very nice.
Food and wine were excellent. Reasonably priced for a downtown Seattle restaurant. It's really one of the hidden treasures in Seattle.
Overall good but several menu items were not available. Food quality was excellent, and service was fine.
