La Couronne - Malmoe

Very cozy French restaurant in malmö with amazing friendly and very friendly staff. Eating is really excellent.

One of the most relaxed places in malmö. the location plays a big part of it, great outsight for all who just like to sit, have a beer and watch how people pass. very friendly staff, extra to the new waitress who revealed herself as a real scanian by using the word klydda. always a pleasure to visit.

Service was slow, but otherwise well the server carefully looked at my unusual allergy, presented an alternative soße to one that I could not have, and was generally polite and friendly. the wine selection was not huge, but the house red is a syrah and I agree with it. the ambiente is beautiful and marries casual elements with classic French decoration, which is set on a pleasant, jazzy soundtrack on a discreet band. note that they do not take cash, only card. eating was really good, and I say that as someone who lived in France for most of their kindness. I got steak fries my usual safest option if in an unknown bistro and the soße béarnaise was excellent. the fries were hot, fresh and really thin and the steak well cooked. I decided to pamper in dessert what I didn't want, and the tarte tatin with calvados cream was delectable. I couldn't photograph it because it would have been cold. I will now come back to my hotel, full and rich, with a very positive impression of malmö and its restaurants. I recommend la couronne for a romantic meal, a business dinner or (as it was for me) a satisfying dinner for a tired traveler on a random Tuesday evening.

Clearly one of the best bars in Malmö. They serve good food, good drinks and have lovely staff. It's a popular spot for the local HTBQ community.
