What John Sueib doesn't like about De Upstairs Lounge:
Our set dinner was below par. The soup was slightly salty and the roasted chicken was extremely dry, almost like cardboard. The only redeeming factor was the dessert, which was decent. View all feedback.
3.6 stars. very frequent service, environment and eating. overall there were no bad steaks. I liked the staff friendly.
3 course meal. Food presentation was good, taste was average. Place was a bit too crowded for 100 people, ceiling was low and can be a bit warm.
I only come to this restaurant for business meetings when I absolutely have to, not by choice. Even when the place is completely empty except for maybe one other table, the service is extremely slow. The prices are too high and the food is not tasty. This restaurant is a disgrace to the merchant hotel, honestly.

The Traders Hotel was once considered the height of elegance, but now there are the W, Four Seasons, and even the Banyan Tree, which offer better and newer dining options. These establishments invest in pull-down electric curtains to shield diners from direct sunlight through the high ceiling windows. While the view of the Twin Towers is impressive, it can be too bright when the sun is shining.
