Stoops Bagnet

Stoops Bagnet
2.6 / 5 (8 reviews)

Description

The restaurant offers a delicious and affordable spicy bagnet dish that comes with rice and a side dish of your choice. While some of the other dishes like the burnt empanada and tough tapa were disappointing, the bagnet stood out as one of the best available. The location in front of Hotel Benilde is noted to be safer than the previous one, and the bagnet is described as crispy with layers of melting fat. Overall, the reviewer suggests that the menu could be more balanced, but recommends trying the bagnet for a fulfilling and satisfying meal.

I like their spicy bagnet. Pretty affordable for 110 - comes with rice and a side dish of your choice. Forget the other dishes. The empanada was burnt and the worse ive ever tasted. The tapa, altho buy1take1 was so-so and tough. Overall, wouldve been rated better if their menu was more balanced.

Stoops in front of Hotel Benilde is a lot safer than their old location in P. Ocampo (Vito Cruz) Street. They still have one of the best bagnet that you could find. The bagnet is refried to crispiness with the layers of fat melting in your mouth. They have a bagnet combo set for Php85 which includes a side dish, rice (garlic or regular) and about 5 pieces of bagnet.  But if you want more bang for your bucks, get the bagnet for single order (Php65 for 6 pieces) then a side dish (Php10) and regular rice (Php12) which comes to a total of Php87. You do the math. One more pointer....if you do get to eat in the middle table where the fan is right below a ceiling light, turn off the fan because you'll get dizzy with the "static" lighting. boodlebear.wordpress.com

My experiences in Stoops Bagnet was satisfying, but there are a few things that needs to be gentrify. First of all, there are few availability of fans. Second, the bagnet itself is salty, in my opinion. I tried and recommend dinuguan, adobo, and the side dish of talong. Those were delicious. Third and the last thing that I mentioned is that, we are always the customer around the area when we are going to dine-in. We are always around between 5:00 - 6:00 pm. The service was great. The lady that always accomodate and takes the order and payment of the guest was nice. The variety of Ilocano dishes is sufficient. The price is affordable, and the availability of chairs and tables is enough, I guess, since the area isn't always that busy. .
