We chose this traditional tavern upon entering Makrinitsa, but in the end it wasn't such a good choice! The service was quite good and the staff polite but the food did not excite us. Fabulous and only place to stop in Makrynista!!!!! there is another restaurant close to St John Church in village square that has a better view. DO NOT dine there. it is Horrible. Take photos and WALk BACK DOWN To AB TABERNA. The lady there was so wonderful. Clean,friendly,good people and good food. The best food in Makrynitsa, by far!!! Tasting the dishes, you literally get a shock!!!! The best spetzofai I have tried in Pelion!!!! Every bite made our palate go crazy!!! What can I say about the rooster with traditional handmade pasta. The most delicious **** of wine I have ever tasted. The sauce was wonderfully tied with the twisters!!! The third dish we went crazy with was the eggplant saganaki. It melted in the mouth!!! Of course, the ribs with garlic were amazing!!! I'll leave the birch with the eggplants for last. If you like goat, don't miss it!!! A dish cooked with a lot of art and love. Of course, don't miss a chat with Mr. Alekos, the soul of the store.
